Egg Share

Post by naine »

Hiya

I'm new to the site & I have just been told that I need IVF as I have damaged tubes :( . unfortunately there is a 3 Year waiting list in Edinburgh. I have heard that some clinics will give you a free try if you agree to egg share. Does anyone know of any clinics which participate in this? We will end up going private, but I want to know all the possibilities first.

Thanks. Naine

Hi
I think Borne Clinc in Cambridge does egg share, but could be a way to travel for you, maybe ask you doctors they should know.
Good luck.

Hi Naine, have a look at www.hfea.gov.uk - you can search by area for clinics that do different things.
Hope you find one, not sure if it is free with egg share but costs are definitely reduced.
I need donor eggs myself so I am all for anyone willing to egg share! Seriously though, hope you find the place you are looking for and good luck with your treatment
Love Kat xx

Hi Naine,

Welcome to the board. I looked into egg share with care, their web page is www.carefertilityweb.co.uk, it has loads of information on there. It was only going to cost about £500 for the drugs. I would definately give them a call as they have clinics around the country.

take care & good luck

Love

sue e xx

ps. on the web site i have given you there are people who post on the bulletin board who are doing egg share programmes at the minute, they may be able to give you the information you require.

Hi Naine - I don't see your age ..? You've got to be under 36 to do Egg Share at Care - and as far as I'm aware, this is a national age limit, not just Care.

Thank you all for your replies, it is so nice to know that so many people can care about you, even when they don't know you... :) I suppose it's because we are all in a similar situation.

Kat & Sue e, thank you for the links, I will check them out tonight.

Hi Sand, I am 29, so hopefully there won't be any problems, but thank you for the information.

I don't mind doing egg share, because I think that if I can help someone else who has the longing that I have, then that has got to be good.

Good luck to you all & thanks again.
