I'm new to this website and think its brill. Just a question. I had an appointment today at the clinic for an ultrasound and blood test to check my hormone levels. They said that the ultrasound was fine, that my womb lining was as it should be and that my ovaries were active which is also normal. I then had to have a blood test to check my hormone levels and the clinic will ring me sometime today to let me know whether i need to start some injections. I am currently on progesterone pesseries. Has anyone had this experience before? I had ICSI in 1999 and didn't go back to the clinic until the pregnancy test. My test date is 5th October.
Hi Angel - My clinic does a bloodtest 6 days after ET..they check to make sure you are producing enough progesterone and other hormones are ok...but they can also tell if you may be preggers or not...my first IVF my hcg was only 1.0 after 6 days after ET...but I also had a 5 day transfer..so they knew I wasn't preggers...I had to go in for another blood test 3 days later so they can compare and again my hcg was almost 0.
I think it is good your clinic does the ultrasound and blood tests...they want to make sure everything is responding as should be and if you need more or different hormones they can respond to this as well.
Keeping everything crossed for you!
P.S. - there is a 2WW thread were there is discussion on the dreaded wait..you may want to join them

Thanks for replying to my question. The clinic didn't say that they were checking my hcg levels. Do you think they would let me know if my levels were low. They havn't rang yet so I'm presuming that my hormones were fine as they said that they would ring by miday and its past that now. Or i'm thinking that maybe my hcg is low and theres no point putting me on more drugs, all this worry. Its awful.
I also noticed that your from Munich. I lve just near Hannover and I must say that the standard of care is so much better than the clinic we used in uk.
Angel - I wouldn't worry..if they haven't called then everything is ok. Yes my clinic in Munich is great..they are not here to pamper me but to just get me preggers...and I prefer it this way..in and out...but very professional. I am actually from the US and to get IVF there is about 3 times more and insurance wouldn't cover it so I am very lucky
What is always recommended during the 2ww is to visualize the little embies settling down in your uterus..sounds crazy but the mind is very powerful..and this will help you relax.
