Hi Danica-
I just saw the heartbeat. It was like a light flashing on and off in the center of darkness. Pretty remarkable and beautifully peaceful.

I need to say though - and I feel that I can only say it hear on this site - and even as I'm writing it I don't want anyone to think I'm ungrateful - as I am so lucky and happy that we've made it this far.

but there's a twinge of sadness that it was only one and not two - I just feel sort of badly knowing that , at a certain point, two were growing. I don't feel sorry for myself - I feel sad for the lost blastocyst. Oh, I know you will all think I'm crazy - but that's what I'm feeling.

Dora, how did it go??

Hi all... Susan, Congratulations on your scan. I'm sure you and DH must be very excited.

Had my first scan today. Everything looked good. We were able to see the heartbeat and were very excited. They've called us back in 2 weeks for the 2nd scan. I want to feel relieved but I'm still VERY scared/nervous and am keeping it low.

Danica, sending you tons of baby dust your way!!!!

Love,
Dora

Congratulations Dora!
Good Luck Danica!

Dora, I agree about "keeping it low"... it just feels too scary to get too excited.

I go back on Monday for my second scan - it sounds like here in the USA they do more scans and more HcG tests than in the UK.

If the next scan goes well - then I'm supposed to transition from the infertility doctor to a regular baby doctor.

Danica - sending you all sorts of good wishes!!

Hey Danica, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! It is iindeed a wonderful experience to see the little heartbeat growing in/with you!! Will you be going in for another scan?

Susan, I'm based in the US too, but have been called for my next scan after two weeks (from the 1st one). In fact the doctor asked me to see my OB/GYN instead in 2 weeks but I insisted I'd rather see them for the 2nd scan too.

Michelle, Ange, Tilly, Wishing you loads of Luck for your 1st scan.
Please forgive me if I've missed anyone!
Take Care,
Dora

I am so happy to hear that I am not the only paranoid person. I will be holding my breat the day of the scan. I sure do hope everything is okay. My HCG numbers were quite high, my chest is very sore, tired all the time...not much nausea, but a little...I hope it stays that way! I am also very bloated and find my pants are tighter. I guess these are all good signs, right?!

Congrats to Dora, Sue, and Danica. I hope I follow suit and see that amazing little heartbeat or beats.

Best of luck to MIchelle, Ange, and Tilly :D :D
