Traci, thanks for including me on the October list, I feel honoured to be on two but think I'd better stick to the September crowd!!! An update whislt I'm here......follie count wasn't great today (3+ 1 tiny) but if they each have an egg that fertilises (big IF) then we'll be alright. I've got 2 extra days of Puregon (300iu) to help keep them growing. EC is Monday 0800, ET Wed 1300.

Angel, you said your scan showed 14 eggs, did you mean follicles? Follicles often but not always contain an egg in so we never know how many we'll get until after they've been collected. If I've misunderstood, just say!

Steph. There's no straight answer to your follie:egg ratio Q. It can be hugely different. I never have many follies (max 10) but they nearly always contain an egg, I've seen people with much larger numbers come away with a 50% drop in numbers after EC, or even greater. Most people, making HUGE generalisations here, get between 50-90%.

Traci, glad to hear you're keeping active and healthy. We had our first frost, can you believe it??? Do you know if double dosing DR is too awful? I did it once this time but can't see it can do too much harm - or can it?

Nes, how did the hosp. visit go? are we both on for EC on Monday?

Hi and good luck to all you other October buddies,
Debra.

Evening All

Second day of DR and all ok so far. Had good session of acupuncture today, she burnt some herbs to make my abdomen warm, DH said i smelt like I'd been smoking funny stuff!

Tracii - thanks for starting list. Hope you manage to get more sleep.

Elle R - glad to see you're joining us.

Nes - sorry to hear about your set back, keep positive and I hope that things improve, loads and loads of luck

Angel - all sounds goods for you so far, good luck.

Steph - I'm not familiar with folli:egg ratio but my clinic said if they got 8 eggs out of 12 follies they'd be very pleased.

To everyone take care and PMA to you all

Hello all...

Thanks Leigh for your list---I'm basically waiting for my AF..it's a matter of days now...there is always hope that I'll be pregnant naturally..... but have already come to terms with it emotionally if not.

Getting ready, excited, and nervous about the IVF...any major tips to overcome those feelings? Still feel a bit panicky at times about what lies ahead...anyone felt that way before?
I haven't had treatment now for nearly a year and hope I'll remember how to self-inject

leigh - DR start 28th Sept
tracii - DR start 27th Sept
elleR - waiting for LH surge
WJAwad - DR start 27th Sept, EC 17.Oct
nes - EC scheduled for week of 3.Oct???
Steph (inhale/exhale) - stimming 25.Sept., EC 6.Oct
Walshy - stimming starting ??
Little R - waiting for AF, matter of days before starting short protocol
Lolajones - DR 5. Oct
DebraP - EC ??
Julesg -

Sorry Ness to hear about your setback..wishing you all the best..hope they grow! :)
Leigh..hope you can sleep better

Hope everyone is doing fine...

Going out to enjoy the sun....

Hello girls

Mind if I join you? I started on the Sept thread (seems like ages ago) but because a) I was erratic at writing and b) our treatment has been slow to get going, thought I would like to join the Oct girls if that's ok.

I started downgregging mid Sept but when I went for my first scanand blood test this week I found out I'm not "switched off" yet. I was down for a day but of course there is nothing I can do. Going back next Wed to see how I'm doing and if I can start my stims, fingers crossed.

Going by our initial dates we were due to do EC and ET mid Oct but this may be put back now. We'll have a better idea after next Wed. Just want to be able to put my test date on the thread!

I'll try very hard to keep in touch. Will definitely let you know after next Wed. Take care.

Welcome Camilla :D I remember you from the September thread..I delayed my treatment until October. What are you taking for downregging?

Debra - I know you must be disappointed with the scan - you still have time to develop more follies/eggs and you do have a great ratio for egg:follies and fertilization. I hope you are relaxing this weekend.

little R - I too am having some panicky feelings - doing the what if scenarios in my mind...I am so set on having a positive outcome and I need to keep my mind focused on thinking positively (but it is not always easy).

Angeleyes - way to go with 14 - this is a really nice number :D

Leigh - the stuff they burn is called 'moxabustion' - I get it too..it makes you feel so nice and warm..I love it!! But when I travel home on the underground I get a lot of strange looks from people...like I have been smoking the whacky-tabacky :D

Steph - 13 follies is also a great number...you don't want to many follies..quality over quantity. My clinic likes to work with 10-15 follies and definitely no more then 15.

Nes - I hope you are doing ok :?:

As for me, so far the downregging hasn't impacted me..although I have double the dosage from last time...only 2 small complaints - still not sleeping well and I have an insatiable appetite...I can't stop eating!!!

I hope you all have a great weekend...I am off to eat (again   )

Camilla, the exact same thing happened to me this month too. I DR'd for an extra week. It gets there, eventually :)

Traci, I'm over my disappointment now. I'll keep up the PMA and see what Monday brings. Enjoy your lunch!

I heard today from an ex-colleague who waited all year to start a FET, her endometrium refused to thicken sufficiently and so she was delayed month after month. They finally went ahead in August and she's just had her 7 week scan. Good things DO happen to those who wait :)

Debra.

Hi there!

Can I join in? I'm a complete IVF fresher! I started DR on 27th Sept for my first ever cycle - I'm feeling very nervous! Any tips greatly appreciated... I'm thinking of trying yoga or acupuncture to help take my mind off things - will this help? - at the moment IVF is all I think about!

It's wonderful to be in touch with people who are going through the same thing. Good luck everyone!

Hi Girls- checking in for the day.
I had a wee bit of a breakdown this morning. The doc was not very positive about my 11 follies he saw today- leaders may be forgotten. He has offered us to quit and try again later for a higher number, but says it may not go up even though I am a youngin', the endo may be the cause. He gave me the facts- he was expecting to see about 30 follies. I have 11, I could get 9-10 eggs, out of those about 50% fertilize and out of the fertilized about 20% grow to day 5 embies. That leaves me with 1 embie! But, he has also said that my eggs are young and I could have 9 fertilize- so he wants to know if I feel lucky- has he ever met someone going through infertility? Do I feel lucky? Is that sarcasm? A rhetorical question? :x

I noticed that your clinics go for 10-15 follicles- do we do it differently over here in the states?

Jeni X- You mentioned yoga, well, I just happen to be a yoga instructor and would love to tell you to give it a whirl, but make sure you try a beginner class. People think of yoga as sitting and stretching- which some is, but other types are very tough. Have fun- once the stimming begins, no yoga- what am I to do with all this stress? Really missing it.

Camilla- good luck on system shutdown!

Little R- You asked if we every feel a bit panicky? I have taken up permanent address at the land of "I am so on edge right now, speak to me and die"

Hello October buddies,
Well I have officially started IVF!!! I had my first FSH injection yesturday and am looking forward to the drugs doing there job.
I am hoping that the drugs work and that I grow lots of large follicle (not too many) and have a great egg pick-up.
They say that i may be going in for egg pick-up on the 12 Ocotber if I am a text book case which sometimes I am and sometimes I am not. I am hoping that I am so that the eggs can be put back in as soon as possible.
I am a bit nervous about the egg pick-up. Not the actual pick up but the fact that there may be no eggs or the ones that are there will be not good in quality.
I suppose though this is never going to be an easy journey.
OK until next time take care from Walshy

Hello dear buddies.....it's Sunday and I am still waiting for my AF..in some ways I am dreading it as I know it is my last window of opportunity before IVF. I think I am still hoping for a miracle ;-) On the other hand, wish it would come so I can start my IVF ;-) I know... talk about mixed feeling!

Sorry Tracii - I was clearly supposed to thank you for the list. I hope you are enjoying your weekend and getting the rest you need!

Leigh - arghh...maybe I am being paid back for making a mixup with the names :-( I haven't been sleeping well for a few days now. Far too many thoughts swimming around in my head! I wish I could cut it off so I could rest. I am a bit of a worry bug! Hope all is well with you :D

elleR - wishing you all the best for 14 October

Steph - Hope you're doing okay. My yoga instructor is my hero ;-). I wish I could be that zen ;-) Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but why no yoga when stimming? Not even gentle yoga? What about yoga breathing technics? I was counting on that to keep slightly sane :-(

Welcome to all the newcomers...

Take care

Good morning all

Slept really well last night!! Not had any side effects from DR but I am waiting for them and shouldn't really cos I may be lucky and not get any, who knows.

Sorry you're not sleeping Little R, sounds like you are feeling same as me.

Fingers crossed for you Elle R for the 14th.
Walshy, you worries are completely normal, I wish you luck.

Hope everyone else is feeling fine. After my good night's sleep I feel great, hope it lasts.
