Newbie Here!

Post by JitterBugz »

Hi, I am new here. My "story" is a little different. I am 26, DH is 34 and we have three children. I had a tubal ligation in 2002 because a very complicated pregnancy a vehicle accident and my water breaking at 26wks. My OB talked me into signing the TL papers. I had PTL with all three children due to uterine fibroids, she thought it was in "MY" best interest to have a TL. (Dr's always seem to think they know whats best for others huh?)

Any hoot, here I am seriously considering IVF. I have to be honest my husband is not as keen on the idea on IVF. He would much rather have me do the Tubal Ligation Reversal surgery. I am not into having another surgery and dealing with short tubal lengths and it only being a 60% chance of working. I have more of a comfort zone with the IVF process vs TLR surgery.

Okay I seem to go on and on huh? I'll shut up for now :-) Nice to meet you all!

HI Jitterbugs,
Welcome to this site.. have you spoken to your doctor abt what he/she considers better for you? IVF is a little invasive, and also emotionally draining( all trying to conceive processes are!)
Good Luck with whatever you decide..

Smita,

Hello, Thanks for the welcome to the site.

Yes, I have consulted with my OB/GYN and a RE. My OP report from the TL said extremely thin tubes and four uterine fibroids. Based on this info both my OB and RE recommended IVF as apposed to the TLR based on the low ability to get pg with short thin tubes and UF.

My TL was emotionally draining in its self. I have been on a emotional roller coaster ride ever since. Knowing that "I" did this to myself. So yes I know all about being drained.

Good Luck To You!
again thanks so much for the reply
