Hi, we got 3 eggs from 3 follicles, about as good as we could have hoped for. Will hear tomorrow how many have fertilised. Normally we'd wait until Wed to see which are the best for transfer but because these are all we have, we might go ahead tomorrow and have them all put back.

Jane, how did ET go yesterday?

hugs

Sorry for the late and short note - my computer is ready to die! :( I won't bore you with the details.

Debra!!! Congratulations! I'd say more, but my computer keeps crashing. Sooooooooooo happy for you!

4 out of 5 made it to freeze. 8 - 5 cell and 1s and 2s grade quality!!! We are happy! :D

Randa, that's great. Well done, that makes 9 frozen all together yes? Do you know how they are frozen? in 2s, 3s, 4s?

Unfortunately, we've just heard that whilst all 3 fertilised, 2 were too-much-so (I hate over-fertilisation, a slap in the face) which leaves only one. We've told them to defrost our 3 frosties and tomorrow we'll have the one fresh and the best 1-2 of any surviving (we've had them all fail to defrost before) frosties put back.

I'm feeling miserable now but will snap out of it before tomorrow's ET. It's a relief in a way, we'll have this one last super-combo try and then no more. Off the tmt roller-coaster for good, one way or another, either into pregnancy or 'normal' life.

I promise to be bouncy and happy for my next post.

Jane, how's it going on the 2ww? what happened at ET on Sunday?
Kat, pills going OK?
Katie, still on for next week?
Sharon, ditto! you're on for sometime next week too aren't you?
BigJ, still firing on all cylinders?
Caroline, time you're back isn't it?

Debra.

Debra, sorry about your news but you know it onyl takes one and the frozen ones were all good quality, i have my fingers crossed for you tommorow, I know it will all go well.

Randa great news on the embryos.

How is everyone else doing?

Hi Ladies

thanks for the good wishes.

D- sorry you ended up with one, but I am sendi all the PMA and baby dust I can to your frosties for a successful thaw. You are so brave, it's normal to feel down and disappointed. expectations are all part of the problem in this b***dy game. I will pray for you that this time is the one. Think about it another way, you have a lovely proven womb just waiting for the embies, so whatever you get has the best of chances

Randa - well done you guys on your latest "batch". I am sure you will be relieved to get one wioth getting pregnant now. Be a right laugh if you got pg first natural try wuldn't it???? Oh I would be so happy for you! You are a real inspiration to me, every time I just keep thinking how old I am and how it's getting "too late" I just think of this threas and that helps me pick my self up and carry on. All thebest to you, and blow your computer - sounds like avirus????

Kat - That wait for "the call" is terrible isn't it??? Wen we went last time, we were really worried as it was the major May bank holiday weekend, which is a mega big deal in germany. I had to book the (4) dogs in the pension anyway for risk of not getting a place. Luckiliy with Victoria we were dead on with our estimate for ET. You are soooooo lucky being in the UK - flight from Hamburg are murderously expensive, we ended up paying €450 each!!! Even now going to Kiev there are n direct flights, and the ones fromUK are so bargainful Grrrr so there's the bright side 4 U!!! We are in a similar situation as I am waiting for "the email" from Kiev to name a date for EC once they have identified a donor. They have taken me OFF HRT as I have had the menopause, they prefer to leave me "native" and then will stim me with Progynova and some yukky gel stuff for 14 days before ET. B a right laugh if we end up cycling together eh??? Am thinking of you dear. I take it from your posts that the seprm issue got sorted then??

Sharon - thanks for the wonderful words. It really helps as you know. You must be also very excited preparing for your FET. How many frosties do you have?? Is this your first one??? Will think of you sweetie, and hope the womb wizard does his bit on your lining!

Kuala and Katie - I don't know you (yet) but looking forward to it!
Caroline - look forward to your return, we also may end up cycling together......

The 17th October is the first major check sincve I started the thyroid therapy. It wont stop the degeneration of the thyroid, but it'sll make sure there are enough stocks for the support of a pg. It is entirely possible that last time my blood levels were OK but the stocks depelted and the pg was too much, that with the immune issues could have causewd the mc. We'll never know. If the reults are good, ie I am responding to the tmt, then we have the green light to go ahead with the cycle. Also around that time, we should get the results from Hamburg RE dh sperm TESE samples.....please think of us. I just don't know what I'll feel if we have to consider donor sperm as well..

LOve and hugs to all

Jules - You are a strong person having so much to deal with but you know when I strated on this journey there were lots of hurdles even to get started and once on the journey its amazing what happens. :D

DebraP - as they say it only takes one. Its ok to feel frustrated and down by the rollercoaster of this journey - you're nearly there - lots of PMA and be gentle with yourself.

Caroline - hope the pregnancy is going well.

I am now jabbing with Buserelin on Day 5 then start Puregon 450 per night on Oct 6th with scan next Tues! If all ok will switch to Menopure 6amps per night (uugh messy mixing) and hope we have an equal or better crop of eggies this time round

Today I had to have some bloods done and the nurse there was telling me about her sister who had 8 rounds of IVF. None of them worked and at 44 she gave up. Last year at 45 she fell pregnant naturally and now age 46 has a bouncing baby girl!! There are so many miracles out there it gives us all hope!!

Debra, What a shock - excuse my ignorance but what exactly happens when over-fertilisation occurs? I felt sure you would be banking your frosties but it's a good thing they are there - and lets hope and pray they will survive the defrost this time. That will be my biggest worry also. My thoughts will be with you both tonight and tomorrow. Hugs friend x

Jane, isn't it so exciting when the embryos go on to divide again in that short space of time. The same thing happened with our frosties - ours were just 2 x 2 cell embryos and so when we went back for our consultation and decided to proceed with FET they told us that just before the big freeze they had divided again - and now we have 2 x 4 cell embryos. It's a small step but one in the right direction. So what have you got planned for the 2ww - are you working or at home. I'll be working this time (all being well). Being at home the last time nearly drove me crazy. This time I want to carry on as normal, within reason (no handstands or cartwheels  and hopefully the 2 weeks will fly by. Take care x

Nuala, hi - good luck with the meds this time around - I loved your story of the lady at 46 who is now a Mum. THAT'S the kind of story that inspires us, isn't it?

Kat - thinking of you and the wait for that phone call. Can't be too long now then all systems go.

Katie, how are you progressing with your meds/scans - looks like you and I will be transferring around the same time. We're in good company on this board.

Caroline - yes, Debra's right - you should be back from sunny France by now - hope you had your fill of fine wines and lots of R&R.

Randa - hope you have fully recovered EC now. 9 frosties is a comforting thought and you have good cell division there - all positive indicators. Take care x

Hope I haven't missed anyone - I know how absent-minded I am these days.

Hugs

Debra,
I posted to you on the Septembies thread, but I'll say again, so sorry that these wierd things keep happening to you (first ectopic and now over-fertilization)! Just not fair at all! But, as everyone says, it only takes one, and you will most likely have 3 to put back.
I have to admire your strength. You sound very practical and ready for this to play out either way. My prayers are with you and dh.

Nuala!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing that wonderful story about the 46-year-old having a healthy baby! :D You have no idea how much I needed to hear a story exactly like that one! BIG PMA booster! :D :D

One of our favorite movies is "The Edge" and all through it Anthony Hopkins (I love btw) keeps saying, "What one man can do, another can do." We can do this, ladies! Forties, shmorties!!!

I tried to update us a little, but didn't get very far. Can everyone update their stats? Felt we should help Debra out a little. (just cut and paste and change, into your next posting)

Hello there dear people, I get quite emotional with this thread. So amazing, so strong, so positive and such a pleasure to be amongst. Thank you for being there.

I feel completely calm about tomorrow. Provided the thaw leaves us 1-2 and the fresh'un has a quiet night in and doesn't do anything daft, then we'll have a fair chance. We can't ask for more than that. I've had a quiet evening, finishing the first of my 7 library books meant to last me a week, munching choc chip cookies and ice cream, both twice-a-year events. I'll be technically pregnant this time tomorrow so will abstain from all that is delicious.....

Sharon, over fertilisation in our case meant that two sperm were present in the egg thus rendering it unusable. The bio-engineer told us this happens with many cycles - we've had it twice before but it's mattered less when it was 1 of 8, vs. 2 of 3. She did say this was unusual (too bored of being unusual to cheer).

Right, it's nearly 10.30 so I'll sign off soonish.
I promise to write tomorrow with how it all went, numbers, grades etc.

thanks again for being there,
Debra

Hi. ET went OK. We had a 5-cell fresh embryo and an 8-cell thawed embryo put back. We were pretty pleased with that. The latter was frozen as a 4-cell so was busy getting on with it.

Off to put my feet up....

thanks again for all the support.
