Hi everyone. God, Ive missed this website!!! Well I started my first ICSI last month, but at first stim scan (7day) scan showed a very poor response to drugs - 4 follies,only 2 any good. The doctor advised to stop there and then. I was sooo upset, but have perked up a bit now. Waiting for af to show this week then i'm off again but on a short protocol, and a higher dose. Has anyone else been in the same boat???? and does a short protocol have the same success/chances as a normal one????? (only 12 days long). (much better in some respect). I really didnt expect this hurdle (male factor). Good luck everyone karen

Hi Karen, When I first started I was on a different protocol and my body wouldn't down reg so I had to stop. They then put me on another protocol and everything was fine and dandy. I know its not exactly the same but, as they told me, everyone reacts in different ways to the different drugs and sometimes they have to tinker around a bit to get the right protocol and prescription. Anyway good luck for the next go, it will come round soon SamKXX

Karen really sorry - sometimes it takes a few false starts to get it all together on IVF - we are all different - I mean you really don;t want to be like me do you? I was always a long protocol girl but a matey of mine was short protocol after 2 long false starts and has just had her 2nd IVF baby - it is fine and makes no difference on either. The difference for you is that it will give you a better chance - roll on AF!! love Tracey s xxxxxxxxx
