Can someone help me with a question???

Post by bubblyshell »

Hi Everyone.

Has alot of you know I had EC yesterday and I was quite ill afterwards, I was sick and stomach cramps was quite bad.

Today I don't feel sick, but my stomach is still very tender. Its not so bad when I am lying down, but when I walk round it is very tender. Sometimes it feels like very bad AF pains, is this normal?

I was just wondering how I will feel when I go for ET tomorrow if I still feel tender in my tummy?

I have tried taking Painkillers but it doesn't seem to be moving. When I called the clinic this morning I explained how I was feeling and they just told me to take it steady today and not to overdo it.

Hope to hear from anyone soon.
Love
Shell.
xxx
Can someone help me with a question???

Hi Shell

I had my EC last May (I've used frozen embies since) and distincly remember how much pain I was in. Like you, when resting it wasn't too bad but as soon as I got up to move about, I was doubled over. I felt like I'd been kicked up the arse a thousand times or more and every little step really hurt. ET still went ahead as planned, the clinic said it was bound to be painful (I had 19 eggs collected so was pricked many times with the collection needle). After a couple of days the pain eased alot and by the end of the week it had virtually gone so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think it's normal to suffer discomfort after egg collection and I guess sometimes they are more rough with you than others.

Try not to worry, if the Clinic say it's fine - it's fine! Just remember to keep guzzling as much water as you can manage! Remember from day of ET you should only have Paracetamol.

Hope this helps.

Good luck Shell.

Love Sarah x
Hi Shell

sorry to hear you're suffering today! Try not to worry - you're bound to be very tender after what you went through yesterday! My second EC was the same - felt tender for days and was worried about ET. Must say, on day of ET it felt a lot better (2 days later), I think you'll be surprised by how much better you feel tomorrow.

Best of luck with fertilisation and transfer!

Helen xx

Dear Shell,

Try not to worry - the EC is invasive and they have to prod around alot, so it's not suprising you're sore. I felt quite tender after mine last Friday, but it's okay now. Just keep taking the pain killers and rest. I also found lying down the most comfy - good excuse to lie on the sofa and watch Countdown!

Good luck,

Alison
