follicles not growing

Post by Deb T »

Hi all,

I had my day 10 scan today, i've got 17 follies but they are not really growing, I had OHSS the last time so they've got me on a short protocol with low dosage, they are being really cautions, they have decided to double my dose starting today but i'm worried it's not going to work, they also told me i've got fluid in my remaining tube.
Do you think i'm worrying too much? Any advice gladly accepted.

love Deb T x

Hi Deb

Sorry to hear your follies are not growing, I'm sure the clinic know what there doing and the double dose will work.

You mentioned you had OHSS last time, I have it now. How long did yours last? Did you get admitted to hospital? did they tell you why?
Sorry to ask so many questions but I haven't come across anyone else who has experienced it?

love Emma
x

Deb

Great to have you back - your follies will grow when they up the dose - it really is not a problem that they are being cautious - your follies will catch up but at a more controlled rate. As for fluid in the tube well I have it permanently - do ask them about it - there are thought that fluid from the tube can spill over into the womb cavity and less the chance of implantation. This is some research I add - my one remaining tube is clipped so the flaming stuff can't go anywhere - or anywhere to worry about that is - reckon it just sits in me so I look like a weeble all the time! - extra size combats help.
Please try not to worry to much as this is not good.......
Good luck
Love
Tracey
xxxxxxx

Thanks for reply's

Emma - They managed to do EC but wouldn't do a fresh transfer when I had ohss, I felt very bloated and uncomfortable for about 10 days (i think)it was a year ago. They never admitted me to hospital but rang me quite a few times to make sure I was ok. I responded to well to the FSH drug, produced too many follicles and my eoestrogen went way too high that why they've got me on a lower dosage this time. Hope this help's a bit. What's the doctor told you?

Tracey - thanks for reassurance about follicles, i'm a bit worried about fluid now, do you think I should ask them to drain it, is that even possible? If the fluid spills and kills the embies it seems a bit mad putting them back in, if it's not going to work. Am I sounding dramatic??? I know i've got to stay calm and positive but it's soooo hard. Elasticated combats that's what i've been wearing, you can be any size then!!!

love Deb T xx
