I am 37 years old and interested in egg sharing. I am willing to be a donor if I can find a hospital that will take me. I have had 1 course of ivf which had a poor response. They collected 5 eggs from me and 4 fertilised. The treatment was unsuccesful. The eggs were of fairly good quality. Fertility drugs used were only medium level of puregon (150) and hospital advised on next cycle to use 300 which should result in more eggs. Last recorded FSH was 10 but am going to get another test done next period cycle. I have also had seven courses of natural di which resulted in 1 ectopic pregnancy 2 years ago and 3 courses of superovulated di. i became pregnant on 1st cycle but miscarried at 8 weeks. Further 2 cycles unsuccesful. So I am able to get pregnant but have now run out of money to fund another ivf cycle which will be approx £4000. Any advice or takers?
Hi Lizzie - As I said the other day, on the other post, I believe that 35 is the upper age limit for a donor to egg share (in the UK). If you find out any different, let me know !

Me 41 yrs old - dh 49 yrs old. ttc 110 yrs.
1st cycle (ICSI)....Mar 04 -ve.
2nd cycle (ICSI)....Aug 04 -ve.
3rd cycle FET........May 05 -ve.
4th cycle (ICSI) ... Feb 06 -ve
5th cycle FET ..... Feb/Mar 11
Thanks for the advice. I know i am clutching at straws but i am finding it really difficult to accept the fact that I will never have my own child. Life seems so unfair! I have given up trying to talk to husband and family because i feel that they think "oh here we go again" when i get upset and obviously nobody knows what to say to me. (What can they say?)
I was 34 when we started down the road of assisted conception after 3 years of trying to sort out husband first and if i had been advised of egg share then I would have seriously considered it, both for myself and others that I could have helped.
But no good thinking about what's happened in the past is there. Can't do anything about lack of advice and options eh!
Sorry to bother you all.
Best of luck in whatever you are all considering at the moment.
Hi Lizzie .. Well there's tons of us here who will listen, so just fire away ..!
I too found out (or contemplated) egg share too late. We were lucky enough to get 3 cycles on the NHS. So, we went on a waiting list, had tests, consultations, paperwork ... all of that ... It literally took years. We've now done 2 cycles and a FET - so have 1 NHS cycle left. As weren't too enamoured with the NHS process we've decided to go Private next round and forego the NHS cycle that's left. (If we do a Private, we loose the NHS).
However, if I had done this in the first place I would have saved about 3-4 years, and been able to do egg share at probably £3-4k less. So, Yes, I can understand your frustration.

I have just been told that I need IVF to conceive as I have tubal damage . I am interested in egg share as the NHS waiting list is 3 years in Edinburgh. I am 29 & I am looking for information of clinics which do egg share. I have also heard that it can reduce the amount you have to pay privately. Can anyone help please..... Naine
I don't know much about egg share but after looking into it the last couple of weeks have found 2 clinics that offer egg share. I am sure there are many more but don't think I will be able to do egg share as I am too old so have not looked into it any further at present.
Bourn Hall in Cambridge is the leading ivf clinic in the country. Their web site is www.bourn-hall-clinic.co.uk (not sure how much it costs for donor eggs)
Also Care at Manchester offer egg share, not sure of website address. Hope this helps.
I am in the opposite position to you as I actually produce eggs but apparantly am too old to be an egg donor at 37.
I am using donor eggs, and have been forced to look overseas because of waiting lists and costs in the UK, and the fact I live in Germany (brit married to german dh) where it is illegal (yes really true). Anyway, through that and a lot of good recmmendations from girls on this and other boards, there is a clinic in the Ukraine, Isida (www.isida.com.ua) that offers high class fertlity tmt and reasonable cost - even once the travelling is taken into account-. I know some girls are going there from the UK even for IVF with their own eggs. It may be that they do egg share??? Certainly I would expect that they are more flexible about age limits than the UK.
We have visited them and were impressed, and will use them for our November cycle.
If you want to know more then PM me

Hi Ladies!
This is for Lizzie.
I don't know where your from but I am from New Jersey and I am donating my eggs and it drastically reduces the price of IVF.
Their website is www.ccivf.com, I don't know if they have an age cut off or anything.
I do know how you feel about not knowing who to talk to, my family has not even asked me about what I'm doing and I have mentioned it a couple of times. My sister has twins and I feel like no one cares if I have a baby or not, I love my neices but sometimes it seems EVERYTHING revolves around them. My DH is very supportive but--he's a guy, if you know what I mean.
I am waiting right now for the new list to get distibuted (OCT 19TH) and then the wait is on for someone to pick my eggs.
If you ever need to talk or have any questions I am here.
Thanks to BigJ and Tlizzy for replying. It's nice to know people care and understand (being in the same position!). Had stopped checking for replies because basically I think there is no hope for me to do egg sharing but will look at both these websites and try to contact somebody. With living in the UK need to weigh up the costs of travel as well !!
It must be very difficult for you Tlizzy at the moment. I don't know, but maybe it's worth trying to explain to your family how you are feeling. I am sure they care but probably don't know what to say. I find that the hardest thing because nobody I know personally has been through all of this and when you have children with no problems, how can you understand the pain we are going through.
I hope you get picked this month. I will keep my fingers crossed for you xx.
The site in the Ukraine may be worth a try especially if you have already visited it bigj. Otherwise would be a bit worried about standards etc in Ukraine. Good luck in your November cycle. If you have any more info would be grateful.
