Oops, I have ommitted some words for my message to lola.

what I wanted to say: your summary made me laugh and think. I should learn to be humorous in spite of what we go through 'just like you guys'. I think I can laugh at myself from now whenever I am stressed. Do I sound foolish??? I think laughter is the best medicine for all problems and I need a high dosage

take care

Chel & Lola,

I agree with both of you'll- laughter is the best medicine. It really helps with PMA.
Chel- I have the same problem everytime I go to the doctor for ultrasounds, it is easily a 1-2 hour wait and it is getting harder and harder everytime to get so much time off work. My DH cannot take time off from work too.

A question to all you November ladies, are you'll planning to take 2 weeks off after the ET. Should one take complete bed rest for 2 weeks after ET. It may be hard for me to take that much time off. I was thinking more like taking 3 days off after ET, would that be sufficient.

Gail - that is bum. But y'know, New Year New Start! There'll be all that News Years Resolution Karma stuff lurking about. Success guaranteed!

How's everyone? I made my dh watch me inject today so he'd feel more included. Yeah right, did it so I could make it look as painful as possible so I'd get a whole pile of sympathy and respect, possibly a mini break to posh Country hotel - too ambitious? Yes, as it goes. He was impressed though. If I read his expression correctly. He may have just been trying to supress a yawn...

I had a dereg nightmare last night. Dreamt the hospital rang me and said I'd have to dereg for a year because I was Welsh. I remember thinking thats awful, but, y'know, fair enough, bang to rights, I am Welsh. Woke up and scoured the Zita West book to make sure it wasn't true.

So whats everybody got planned for the weekend? I'm going to be like Cinderella and remain housebound with the two ugly sisters, Miss TV and Madam Mint Matchmakers.

Hope everyone is chipper!

It wouldn't have surprised me if it were true....my DH is of Welsh origin and it takes him about a year to do anything!

(Thanks to you, he also now thinks I am a madwoman....I have been laughing hysterically while reading your posts....I am not normally so "chipper" this early on a Saturday morning!)

Have a great day!

Good evening ladies! Hope everyone is doing OK. I agree with everyone on the DH thing. He has a cold right now. Seriously, I think he thinks his cold is a bigger deal than going through a round of IVF. I would like to go stick a needle in his stomach so he really have something to complain about.

Has anyone tried acupuncture or massage during their cycles? I am not a big believer of that kind of thing, though I have heard at the minimum it really relaxes you. I am trying both this round.

Dear wantingababy,

I am not sure about how important is it to be in rest during the 2ww but I can share what I know.

During my 1st icsi the nurse told me no specific instructions for the two weeks just be what you are. When I asked about lifting things she said "no heavy lifting' thats all. Even the books I have read so far says the same (havent buy the zita west yet). I was on two weeks medical leave. But was not on complete rest really. I was staying with my in laws at that time and used to cook and clean everyday. I used to climb stairs and walk to the supermarket at least once a day. My result was -ve. The doc said that she was very confident that it will be a +ve and that she is confused. She even asked me whether the nurse gave me some medicine after the ET (which she didn't). I dont know what went wrong. But this time I checked out the do's and dont's message board in this site and have listed down a number of things to do and not to do during the 2ww. whether everything is true or not I have decided to give it all this time. I have also decided not to do anything during the 2ww except for watching tv, reading and surfing.

I think taking two weeks off depends on the nature of our job. For me I can't help lifting heavy things as I work in a preschool as children would want hugs and cuddles now and then.

love all take care

Gail so sad to hear your delay - but go girl for January and find that paddle for AF :D
As far as 2ww is concerned I followd Zita's advice last time and spent 3 days total bed rest (I was bouncing by the end of it) and then took it easy for the rest of the 2ww - result - negative.
This time I'm juts going to have the full week off for er and et and take it very easy but then back to work. I'm lucky as my job is office bound and my boss very good - so i can clear off early if i'm feeling poo. I think its personal preference. This time I'd rather have something else to think of than just sat moping at home - which i found very very hard - I'm normally a very active person and don't sit still.
Well offski now to zoom round the shops, its the weekend! Oh had my first injection last night, DH did the honors and it wasn't too bad - still froze my bum though before the awful deed

Hello Everyone

I Started My first Ivf treatment 25/09/2005 For the first medication (Synaral Nafarelim, snare Nasal ) on Monday 10/10/05 I have first scan this will check that the ovaries are inactive and no contain large follicles

had my first injection was 10/10/05, DH did the shot and it wasn't too bad - still froze my stomach

I will have scan on Tuesday 18/10/2005 that day they will check the number and size of the follicles within the ovaries and they will confirm when will be my egg collection.

I am bet frightening for egg collection they told me I will have General anaesthetic. Has anyone had it done what it is like ? Did Hurt? After egg retrieval what do recommend to do or not to do?

Good Luck everybody

Hi Nov-embies,
Looks like a lovely bunch of you there.
Wishing you all Good Luck :D

mandeeq,
Egg retrieval is not at all frightening..it just seems so cause we're all scared of being put to sleep..But it takes a maximum of half an hour- unless you have loads of follies..
After the process you'll be groggy for a couple of hours or so and then you can have some thing to drink.. Anyway, each clinic has a different protocol, but they'll advice you to drink lots of fluids until the transfer.

Hi Mandeeq

I agree with Smita - have just had EC myself and had a 'local' rather than a 'general' so they thought I might or might not be awake during the op .....apart from the initial drugs they give you - I don't remember anything - must have passed out :!: :) So you have nothing to worry about - just make sure you take paracetomol that night - I didn't.

Best of luck

HI NOV-EMBIES,

I am overjoyed to say I will be joining your long list ... You are some 'smilie' bunch of Nov-embies i have had fun reading all the posts looking forward to posting to ya all....:D So great to see you Eskavon and Nicki.... :D :D

I can't get over how surprised I am to be here. Especially as 8 wks ago I was told I was in early menopause and wouldn't get another AF. But i did, I had Af 3 weeks ago. At the consultant meeting yesterday the doc said ....lets do it!!!!

I have been given the go ahead for a certrotide (short) cycle. Due AF on the 23rd Oct and then testing day 3 for fsh and E2. hopefully everthing will be okay and we can carry on with the tmt. Docs are not hopeful...but hey !!!
If I don't give it a go how will we ever know. Am full of PMA and hope.

lets hope it's a miracle month for all.....

Loving PMA hugs and tons of baby dust ....
