I have been reading this site for a few months but never had the courage to write. Anyway now i have just started my 1st cycle of ivf a few days ago and need your expert advice and support.
I am 35 and TTC for 2 years. Was informed my fallopian tubes are blocked and noone knows why as i have never been ill or had irregular periods etc. There are no other problems and my husbands sperm count is fine.
Have started the Synarel spray and keep waiting on the side affects to kick in but so far i have had none, although it's early days. How did everyone else get on with this? Do the side affects come after a certain period of time? Would appreciate any advice with this first cycle as i find it hard to stay positive given there is such a low success rate.
Thanks for listening and will keep my fingers crossed for you all.
I know, as a first timer it's all a bit scary. I started my first cycle week before last. You've found the right place though. Everyone here is really friendly and supportive and there is a wealth of information on these boards.
Side effects - everyone is different, common ones seem to be tiredness, headaches, mood wierdness.
Don't think about percentages! I know thats easier said than done. You'll feel better and more positive once you've actually started taking your meds. I know I did.
On the general forum there's a thread called October Buddies where all the ladies having treatment this month post - come and join us!
Thanks lolajones for your advice. I will pop over to the october buddies for support too.
We seem to have exactly the same prolems but fingers crossed we will bet our bundles of joy soon. Good luck
Hi Jen!
You've probably gone over to the general thread and not checking this one now - but just in case I wanted to say that I had almost no side effects whatsoever during my IVF cycle. I had a couple of hot flushes, but no mood swings, no headaches or anything. In fact my dp said I was far more calm and relaxed on the stims that he has ever known me.
I kept thinking I must be doing something wrong as I have no side effects and was almost scared to go to each of my scans in case they told me off for doing it wrong!!!
i wasn't of course, just lucky that I didn't suffer.
Good luck to you - you're in good hands over on the general forum!!!!

I am also a first timer. I posted on the site a few months ago to get some idea about IVF. I am in the process of checking FSH, LH & ES levels.
I had the blood tests done in China and am planning to have IVF in the UK, so I will send the results to the Uk clinic and hopefully start on cycloprogynova in November (whilst in China) ready for egg recovery in January.
I had the blood tests on the 2nd day of my period
FSH 3.7 mIU/ml
ES 68 pm01/1
LH 1.39 mIU/ml
I must wait for the Uk clinic to give me feedback on these results, but I'm wondering if any of you can give me some idea if these are good or bad results. Will I need to consider any actions to change the levels to start IVF?
