Smita

Those "flutterings" are amazing aren't they. Mine are getting stronger and stronger by the day - to be honest, I really am convinced I felt on a full-on kick yesterday, but I don't know whether it's my imagination or it was real :? Whatever it was, it was wonderful :D

Little One has been quite active today.

Everytime you feel those flutterings, keep your hand on your tummy - apparently babies respond to the warmth of your hand :? It's one way for you to be close to DH right now.

Take care of yourself

HI all!

Hope you are all doing well! Just checking in, had my appt last week (18 week follow up) and everything looks perfect! So on we go hopefully continue to be worry free...I am feeling quite good and have been feeling the baby since about 17 weeks....Little taps, flutters and tumbles it really is quite neat and usually happens when I am relaxed!

Hi all, I think I may stay here for a while longer as the 3rd tri thread seems really quiet. I'm feeling great at the mo. Bubs keeps kicking me loads, which although sometimes painful is so reassuring. My DD has a terrible cold at the moment, so she slept in bed with me last night and DH got kicked into spare room! I hardly slept a wink, she never stops fidgeting. We didnt send her to school today and hopefully the cold seems to have improved a lot I just hope I dont get it.
DD loves school now and has even got an invite to the birthday party of the girl who was bullying her. I feel better about having a baby now knowing she is settled and happy.
One piece of advice I would like to give you all tho is that me and DH kept putting off having another child for all crazy reasons, money, work etc, but now I just wish we had done it sooner so they would be closer in age. So please if you think after baby is born you may want another, try as early as you want. We weren't gonna try for no 2 as I thought it would be a waste of money that couldve been spent on DD if the treatment didnt work. The only thing that made me have a go was that I could at least tell DD when she was older that we did try and it didnt work. As it happens it has worked, so its all OK, but I do regret not doing it sooner.
Anyway hope you ladies are all OK
Susie
PS anyone heard from Katylark or Mil as both used to post loads but not heard from either for ages.

Hi everyone

Sher - Cant believe how insensitive your boss is! How can he comment on how you should feel during pregnancy when he will never experience it? I dont blame you for wanting to finish earlier. I was going to leave approx 1 month before my babys due, but have decided to leave sooner now. I was trying to make sure I had as much time as I could after the baby was born, but have decided that if I am stressed out before the birth it wont give her the best start in life! Im having problems travelling to work at the moment as well as some stress at work. Ive decided its just not worth it. Take care.

Smita - Hope your DH is feeling better soon. Its hard when you cant be together and look after each other. Keep enjoying those little taps and flutters! Wait until you get the kicks-they make you jump sometimes!

Little P - It probably was a full on kick you felt! I used to have the same. You sit and wait for another one, but the baby only tends to then do it when you arent expecting it and then you wonder if you are imagining it! No imagining it with mine now. Ive started getting 'pummelled' in more than one place now, I think shes practising her punches at the same time as kicks! I was doing a yoga video for pregnancy yesterday and she decided to interrupt my relaxation at the end!

Gen and Gavin - Isnt it amazing watching the baby move? Ive only just started to see the kicks as well as feel them. DH has managed to miss each one though as yet! I did comment the first time I saw it, it felt like I was in 'Alien'!!

Jessica - Glad everything is going well for you. Very reassuring all these movements we are feeling! Mine seem to happen when Im relaxed as well. (Or ive found recently if I am sat down bending over, wondering if thats uncomfortable for her now).

Jaqs - Sorry you are still feeling ill. Hope you get a release of energy later on in your 2nd trimester (I think it can take a bit longer sometimes for some people). Hope your holiday helps! I didnt have any alcohol until I was 16 wks and then have had the occasional glass of wine. Just see how you feel. Its hard to know what we can and cant do during pregnancy isnt it, theres so much conflicting advise out there. My midwife said 1 or 2 units once or twice a week is fine.

Susie - Sorry to hear about your DD's cold, but good news that things are going well with her otherwise. Me and DH have discussed about whether to try for another child after this one and I must admit Im reluctant to leave it too long if we do, mainly because of my age. Although I have worried about coping with a toddler as well as a baby (Or even more than one!!) Part of me thinks I will just be happy to be blessed with one, but is that fair to leave her an only child without even attempting to try again? If it doesnt work again, then it is out of our hands. I know DH thinks im looking too far ahead before this one is even born, but I like to plan if I can! Ive not heard from Katylark since early on in the 1st trimester and Mil since early in the 2nd. Hope they are both just too absorbed in their pregnancies to come online!

Take care everyone

Hi Ladies

Glad to see so many of you here today - Susie, it's good you're staying around here for a while, we would miss you otherwise. I hope that DD gets better quickly.

Smita - I'm sure you'll feel it soon. I've gone back to flutterings/bubbles and the odd sensation but I do love it all.

I've just got back from my 20 week scan and everything was spot on as it should be. Little One was moving so much and looked so different which was amazing. I just can't believe that that is going on inside, it is still so magical :D

The sonographer has bought my EDD forward a few days, but I think I'll keep it as 6 March until I've spoken to the ARGC about whether or not that's officially changed.

I'm feeling so relieved at the moment :D

Big hugs to all.

Little P

hi everyone
isnt it funny how we look forward and worry about each stage...the eggcollection etc...then the 2 week wait....then the first scan.....then the 3 month wait..... and now the 20 week scan
every week we seem to have something new to look forward to and as iv said worry about
my next hurdle is the 20 week scan which will be late cos im away so will have it at 22 weeks im just waiting for the first kick at about 19 weeks which will be lovely to feel ill be on my cruise then so hopfully be so relaxed little un will kick all day long and plus as i will be with hubby 24/7 for 2 weeks(god help me)im sure he will be there when the first kick happens
1 thing (amongst other things)im worried about is i have 3 cats who have the run of the house and have been my babies ..im wondering how there going to react and trying to keep them off the baby iv been looking at nets which go over cot etc
its very hard because i dont want to exclude them or shut them out all have been rescue cats and one of them saffie was kicked out when the owner had a baby then left when they moved house so i dont want her to think its going to happen again ....soft i know but up untill now they have been the most important things in my life
so any tips from anyone????
i called in the chemist today to see if i could have anything for my cough but they wouldnt give me owt so gotta make a trip to the docs again which i feel a bit of a pain... im not one for going to the docs but i feel a regular now and even the receptionists know me when i walk in
does anyone else feel overwelmed by everything we have to buy??? i dont know if im coming or going !!! all the diff types of things!!! all the diff prams omg ...i have bought a few things off ebay moses basket.. bouncy chair etc which im really pleased with and had at a brill price
gav is gen having trouble eating or just not putting the weight on ??? i find im only eating small portions and that i have to force down most of the time..hubby is going mad with me and says the old wives tale is the wrong way round and its him whos eating for 2and 3 sometimes.
anyway best i go do sometng and not sit on this thing all day(im hooked on ebay at the mo)
all take care lots of love

Hi there

Just thought I would add that I am definitely experiencing full on kicks now - what a wonderful, beautiful time this is.

It's only the first kicks so I know the sensation will get stronger and stronger, but after seeing Little One this morning it's made it so real today!!

I am like the proverbial Cheshire Cat today :D :D

Thanks Smita

I just know that you'll feel your bump's kick any minute and believe me it'll take you by surprise and you'll wonder whether that was it or not.

Have a giggle for me when it happens

Hope you're ok and that DH is feeling better.
