We have just started IVF 5 days ago, I am taking a Dexamthasone tablet once a day, Oestradiol Valerate once a day and 6 sachets of Menopur (as an injection) We went for our first scan on Tuesday and I was told my follicles were not doing much and they up'd the menopur sachets from 4 a day to 6 a day, we go back tomorrow to see if they are growing. I am so worried that they wont grow, could someone please give me some advice on this. The other thing is the Menopur is making me so tired but I cant actually sleep, its like I am a walking zombie. If I am lucky and my eggs are ok what do I do once they are put back inside, do I resume to normal life or do I rest?.
Looking forward to hearing from you and wishing you all the best of luck.
Tracie
Welcome to the site! Dont worry as yet about your follicles not responding. I was on gonal f for stimulation and didnt respond at all in the first few days! They had to adjust my dosage and then I was ok. Everyone's body is different, they just dont know initially how you will respond. (The same with side effects - the drugs can affect everyone differently).
This forum is generally very quiet. The general forum is normally the best place to post. There are a few threads running, just join in where you feel comfortable. There is an October and also a November buddies where other women are currently going through treatment. There is also a 'Do's and Dont's' thread where you might find some answers to your questions on what to do during the 2ww (The wait between your embryo transfer and pregnancy test). People also have different views on this. I went back to work a couple of days after ET, but my job is part time and not a physical job. I found it helped to keep myself busy during this time!
Good luck with your treatment, you'll find a lot of help and support on here!

Hi Tracie!
Just hang in there! Sometimes they're a bit slow to get going! Everyone reacts in different ways to the stimms so sometimes it needs a bit of tweaking. Mine took a bit longer than expected, but I just had to delay EC for a few days.
As Kim says - if you pop over to the general thread and ask the same question you'll get more response. I can't off the top of my head remember size they need to be, but loads of people over there will!
Good luck!

Thanks for your reply it was so kind of you. Well we went to the clinic this morning and she said my follicles had grown very well and we were to go back again on Saturday morning and the reckons we will be able to start with the other injection Citrotide. Its one hurdle after another isn't it. Any way thanks for the input I do so much appreciate it.
