Hi-
All's well here in Central New Jersey.
Had a scare Friday night with bright red bleeding, went in for a scan Saturday - all was well.
Then, Monday, passed a blood clot. Which, needless to say, terrified me. But, scan on Tuesday showed the baby moving around with a strong heartbeat.

I need to learn how to enjoy this time, not freak out at every twinge.

Any suggestions?

-Susan

HI all,
I am relatively new to this site and just came across this, so I thought I'd check in.
Located in NYC, and underwent IVF with ICSI in NJ ( Susan, I believe we may have gone to the same clinic IVJ NJ?) They have really been fantastic.
Anyway, I will be 6 weeks tomorrow and I have also had a scare - first a bit of spotting here and there,a nd then some moderate bleeding ( bright red) on mOnday. Had an u/s - sac looked fine, dr saw a bleed in my uterus. Rested a few days and now am just spotting old blood. I have read that bleeding during the first trimester is more common with IVF patients - has anyone else heard this?
Anyway - congrats and best of luck to all - I know we worry about things but usually things do work out. Staying postive.

Hi CPGirl!
Congratulations!!

Yes, I did go to IVF NJ - lawrenceville was my "home" office - but I spent tons of time at Somerset.
Who was your main doctor?
I loved the care the nurses gave to us. I think it will be hard to transition to a regular OB-GYN (I go tomorrow) after all of the personalized care at IVF NJ.

Dr. Natofsky told me that 80% of their patients bleed during the first trimester.
Still, it's so scary when it happens to you!

Good luck!

Hi Susan,

Thanks and congrats to you also!
Dr Darder was my main dr, and actually one of the nurses in Somerset mentioned that 80% statistic to me also. Which was weird because my understanding is that about 30% of women bleed during the first trimester. I guess it is different with IVF patients and all the hormone manipulations.....
Did DR N say what caused your bleeding? Just curious as we are waiting to see the HB next week, so am anxious until then.

Thanks and keep me posted!

Hello Ladies

Post by Babysoft »

Hey All,

I am so happy to see this thread still up and running. I started the thread, but I am not an IVF girl yet. I was suppose to start with IUI this month, but my FSH levels were too high and we had to cancel, so I'm just checking in on everyone...sending lots of PMA and baby dust.

I'm so happy to see so many women preggers on this board  FYI...I have a 9 year old already and I bled the first 2 months...normal AF and I she was conceived naturally. So I think it just depends on your body.

Anyway wishing everyone the best the luck..hope to see lots of BFP and new baby stories soon :D

Welcome Stephanie!

CPGirl-
No, Natofsky had no answer - neither did Darder when I called panicked two days later when I passed a clot - or did Debbie the nurse practioner when I went in for yet another scan. No explanation - but everything is normal. Going to a regular OB in one hour - maybe she can explain.

CP- what is the HB you are waiting for? I'm not familiar with the term.
Also, are you going to the early pregnancy class this saturday at 10am? If so, please look for me and my husband Nick.

Good luck everyone!!

Hi All again,

Babysoft - thanks so much for starting this thread. It is good to know other women's experiences in real life - much better than reading what's in books. So did you stay on bedrest for your first two months ?

Stephanie - good luck with your cycle - let us know how you are doing.

Susan - Hb meant heartbeat - couldn't see one on Tuesday because it was too early. Let us know what your OB says. Unfortunately, we won't be at the class this saturday - we are waiting for the next one.

Are you still on progesterone?

take care,

Cp

Finally off the progesterine - at some point we went down to every other day, and then when we went in last saturday (all freaked out), Natofsky said we could just stop.

It felt sort of anti-climatic - we were going to have a big "Last Shot" celebration.

Dr. Yih was my primary, and I really liked her - but I saw Darder a few times - he was actually the one that convinced our insurance to let us go to IVF, after 2 unsucessful IUIs (the last with injections).

I feel like I owe them all so much.

Babysoft, thanks for the info about your experiences. They never tell you this stuff in school.

What they do tell you, that you can get pregnant just by looking at a boy, doesn't really hold water either : ) .

Take Care,
Susan

Welcome Ramo!!
Good luck on the 2ww! There's an excellent thread of lots of people on the 2ww -- it helped me so much to get through.

CP- what a dingbat I am - HB - heartbeart - of course!!

The class on Saturday was fine - Debra the nurse practioner did it. Pretty cut and dry - but met some nice people. I think it was really good for my husband to be hearing a lot of the stuff from the "professional".

Went to my first real ob appointment on Friday. She was great! I was there for over 2 hours - she just spent so much time with me in her office, talking, answering ALL of my questions. Then, she examined me and we heard the baby's heartbeat. So how, it seemed so much more real at that moment.

The next hurdle to get over it the blood tests and ultra sound to screen for the scaring chromosomal problems. That's nov 10.

Take Care Everyone!

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to pop in and join this thread. I am from central NJ and have just started dregging on 10-24. My Dr. estimates ER and ET mid-November. I see 2 of you from my area went to a clinic in NJ - I'm traveling to Long Island as that is where my Dr. is affiliated.

I'm very anxious and excited -- and honestly scared of the progesterone shots. I am a biggggg baby when it comes to shots - we'll get through it though.

Well, I look forward to hearing all about your experiences and sharing mine.
