Hi girls

Hope you don't mind me joining in. I am starting my first IVF on Monday when I get my downreg injection. Not really knowing what to expect. Hospital are estimating ET week begining 21/11.

SammyLou - I am having prostap injection aswell, I got this about 4 years ago for my endo treatment but got HRT to counteract it! Was a bit crazy then so I will probably be a million times worse this time. Let me know how your going and what side effects, if any, you get.

Good afternoon November Ladies

I would like to ask you a question

I have started (Gonal F 150 Ml Injection on 10/10/05 on one injection in the evening, I was 8 days the injection
I had Scan Appointment on Tuesday 18/10/05 I was Told my follicles was not doing much and they ask me to continue injection.

They booked me another Scan for today which I want and she said my follicles had grown very well 21 follicles which was good but she mansion the Uterus Lining was not good respond she said we need 7.5mm and I have get 3.5.

Have anyone had this problem or experience or knowledge for this?

I am wondering if the chances were better for us this(If I am Lucky to become pregnant), I started bit worry and frustration.
My egg Collection is on Monday 24th but they do one more scan on that Monday.

Would appreciate any advice with this first cycle as I find it hard to stay positive this Uterus Lining was not good)

Thanks for listening and will keep my fingers crossed for you all.

Good luck,
mandeeq

Hi everyone

I'm due to go and collect my IVF drugs from the hospital on Nov 4th and start sniffing and injecting! Does this make me a candidate for the November thread or am I jumping the gun and should wait for the December thread when I should be going through the 2WW?!

I've read through a fair bit of this thread and I'm still a bit confused about which thread I should be on! Either way It'd be great to have some people going through the same thing to chat to.

A Big Hello to Everyone

This is my first time on this website and can't believe how friendly and supportive everyone is in good times and bad.

I've just started my first IVF/ICSI attempt (had tablets for a week and have been taking injection for 10 days) my period was due two days ago and I know I have to call to book in a 4 day blood test but why is it when you don't want your period it comes and when you do want it its late!!

None of my friends or family have any experience or knowledge of IVF, my own mother and sister don't even ask me what's going on unless I bring it up. My partner had an accident on a rope swing age 17 when he twisted his testicles (ouch!), we only found out two years (age 41) that when they stitched him back up they effectively gave him a vasectomy! All my mother can say is "well if there's nothing wrong with you, why do you have to take these injections". But then my mum is 75 so I shouldn't be too hard on her.

Anyway, so am anticipating egg recovery and transfer mid Nov if all hopefully goes according to plan.

Look forward to hearing all your news, advice and thank god for this website!

Hi Mandeeq

Literally anything can happen from one scan to another, but to help your uterus lining to thicken you can :

* Eat foods rich in vit B1 and B6 (grains, nuts, brown rice, meats, egg yolks, fish, poultry, green leafy veg)
* Have a good intake of iron and co-enzyme Q10
* drink plenty of water every day
* avoid vigorous exercise
* use a hot water bottle to keep the abdomen warm

Hope this helps

hi girls

tracie & eskavon, thanks. i'm already feeling better about it today. you're right, let's hope there'll be a double pregnancy in the family.

mandeeq, maybe you should consider acupuncture. i don't say this from experience as i've never done it but i think i'll start. don't know if you've read zita west's book (saw it strongly recommended on this site) but she maintains that it helps to build up the lining of the uterus. lots of people swear by it for a whole range of things. it could be worth a try.

have a great weekend everyone.

Hey Mandeeq

I dont know what the right answer is to your question. But I was on 4 days of Follistin 150 and Repronex 75 and Lupron 5 and on the 4th day my dr called and said he is very concerned about over stimulation and hence had me stop Repronex completely. On the 6th day of the inj I even stopped Follistin and am going in for ER on Sunday i.e. 10/23/05.

With an ultrasound today, they told me that my uterus lining is at 7.5 and it should grow by the time of retreival.

Also I have about 10 follicles.

It is my 1st cysle of IVF too and I hope it works out for all of us.

Welcome rachel, liverpool and Cla (sorry if I had missed out any new comers as I have not been posting much lately)

Eskavon, good luck for your Af to arrive, will keep everything crossed for you dear. I was waiting for my AF for almost two weeks and finally it arrived today. I m upset that had delayed my cycle a bit but its ok I'm learning to be patient. Going for my HCG scan on 28th Oct and I think aftr that will know when will I start stimm etc.

Rachel, its normal to feel down and a little jeolous when someone you know conceives naturally while we are trying hard for a long time. I have had many of this feelings so don't your worry, you are not alone. Have lots and lots of PMA its helps believe me.

Liverpool, Good luck on your ec, I can't remember how I felt before my ec but I had general, i had phobia for general ever since I went for an op before that but it was not that bad, it was very mild and i did not suffer anything like the op. I was asleep for about 20 to 30 min after the procedure so don't worry just think of your bubbly eggs.

cla, enjoy your holiday "HAVE FUN".

This site is a great place, I have gained a lot of PMA here. All the people here are very supportive and caring.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Hi all,

Well we went back to the clinic this morning for another scan to check the follicles, we were told there are only 3 proper ones the other 2 haven't developed as quickly as they should. They have said I can start Cetrotide now with the menopur and go back on Monday to see whats going on and if all is ok then ec will be on Wednesday. Now then I am all at six's and sevens with myself coz I'm thinking 3 follicles is bad and I am worried. I dont even know if there are any eggs in there. My Dr came in for a chat and said he was happy with the outcome coz I dont think he thought we would even get to this stage. I am finding it so hard to sleep right now as there are a million thoughts going through my mind. Has anyone else only had 3 follicles?. Anyway going to immerse myself in my heat magazine and find out all the gossip, that will keep my amused for a while. Have a good day everyone.

Love

Hi all,

I'm set to start my first (and ONLY) cycle for IVF on Monday -- the Dr estimates I should be ready for ER and transfer in early November.

I'm excited and anxious all at the same time.

Wishing all of us great success!!!!!!!

Hi. Thanks for the welcome Chel. I'll join in with this thread then.

Hello again Kim, yes, I'm back again! It really cheers me up that you went to Calderdale as well and IVF worked first time for you. And it's a girl, I know you're not really meant to care whether it's a boy or girl but I'd be over the moon if I had a girl, wouldn't know what to do with a boy! I hope everything is going well for you.

Can anybody reassure me about something that's bothering me? I have been on the pill for 3-4 years and stopped taking it beginning of August this year (probably would help matters!)

My blood test that I gave while I was on the pill said my hormone levels were fine. But then I gave another one after I'd come off the pill and got a letter back saying my hormones were rather raised and could I go for another blood test (which I did on Thursday). Of course I started worrying and had a look to see what Zita had to say about it and now I've convinced myself that I'm menopausal and hadn't noticed because I was on the pill.... Maybe I'm worrying about nothing but it's making me a bit tearful fretting that I've left it too late and everything's dried up and withered without me noticing and I'll never have a baby. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Love Ellie
