Hi Kelly
Good luck for January. Having cycle of ivf at moment, so if you have any questions fire away.

Everyone on here will recommend book to you by Zita West called Fertility to Conception, it has loads of useful info. My advice would be to pick out bits that suit you and your lifestyle.

Take care

Kelly

I hope that you are ok and as Michelle has said if there is anything you are uncertain about then just ask - there's always somebody here who'll be able to help.

Good luck with the treatment next year.

hi kelly,

welcome to the board! youll be really glad u have found us all. it will be a great source of information for you and somewhere too to offload your feelings of sometimes highs and sometimes lows of the world of ivf...

i am only sad that i didnt find the site earlier....ive been ttc for 4 years now and have only one friend in the whole world & my mum (of course) that knows what we are going through, but thats the way i want it....
i feel so much stronger and not as mental knowing that all the girls on this site feel exactly the same as me....

if you ever need to ask any questions, ive had alot of experience of ttc, even only at the age of 30 this is a little bit about me....

minor endometriosis & one tube bit slow getting things thru...
one cancelled iui due to ohss
2 failed iuis
1 cancelled ivf due to ohss
1 failed ivf
1 failed FET
1 failed ivf
1 natural conception resulting in miscarriage at 7 weeks 6 days

i am due to request another FET in january 2006 as i thought it would be best to get xmas/new year out of the way just incase it didnt work, xmas is bad enough for us girls here....

anyway, you should gain loads of PMA for january from us all and hopefully youll get lucky with your first IVF but if you dont (like many) youll have loads of information by then and dont forget the doctors need to find out alot about your body on the first attempt, eg like what dosage of drugs is best for you, etc etc...you will find the strength from within to get through and win the battle of being a MUM xxxx

good luck and hook up with me in january...suppose you never know what will happen for us both between now and then hey??? xxx

Thank you guys so much for all your support. I have the testing for the FSH on 11/1/05. If that goes well I hope we can go ahead and start IVF. Do you have to wait till your next cycle or can they go ahead and put you on birth control pills at anytime of the month? I'm ready to get this started and over with. This whole thing is driving me crazy. How do you relax yourself so you can sleep at night? PLEASE HELP!!!

Kelly,

I just received the results from my first round of IVF yesterday... pregnant, and likely with twins!

Before starting IVF, I read everything I could get my hands on about the process, and frankly, I was scared to death. Raging hormones, daily shots, weight gain, the procedures ... it all sounded nothing less than horrific to me. In fact, in the books I bought, I don't think I read one account of someone who had what they would consider a "good" experience with IVF.

But you will be happy to know it was not bad AT ALL... ok, it was almost easy. And I'm not just saying it in retrospect since it was successful. In fact, several times through the process, I asked my RE if everything was ok, because I wasn't experiencing what I expected. It was almost like it was going too well.

My point - be encouraged that the process is not difficult for everyone. There are a lot of stories and information out there, the majority of which might scare you to death. The most important thing is to have a positive attitude going into it, and keep your focus on what you will get in return!

Hope this helps... and good luck!

Hi Kelly, I was glad to read your post, I'm feeling exactly like you are. I'm right there with you girl! I have my IVF consultation Jan 9th, then will move forward from there. I'm crazy nervous/excited as well. Don't know what to expect, am hopeful that this will work, but am preparing myself for disappointment as well. Hard not to after over 4 years of TTC!

I wish you the best of luck!
