Short Protocol Questions

Post by Alison »

Traci - I was supposed to have short protocol last time round but didn't because, I think, my oestridial (not sure if that's quite spelt right) didn't go low enough. But the schedule you've been told sounds similar to what I was told. I don't know about you, but I've always continued the down-reg sniffing, on a lower dose, once starting the stims injections, so I guess you'll still need some down-reg sniffing drugs, so I doubt it'll make that much difference to price. I was told they'd had good results with short protocol so was disappointed when I couldn't do it. Good luck!

Alison

Short Protocol Questions

Hi Traci,

I've been on a short protocol this time round, I had a day 2 blood and scan. Oestrogen has to be between 0.11 and 0.42, I was 0.12 so no down reg drugs needed, started the FSH drugs on day 2 then on day 5 start drugs to prevent ovulation they say they can control your response better on shorter protocol. I had ohss the last time but this time i'm struggling to respond as they put me on a really low dose. I'm now on day 13 so tomorrow is crucial if the follies haven't grown probably abandon.

Not sure about cost of drugs as mine are covered by the NHS. The shorter protocol is supposed to be a better outcome for response so don't look at mine as negative it's just that each month we could have a different response well that's what the nurses told me.

Hope all goes well for you.

Deb T x
