Have just been reading messages re acupuncture. I have acupuncture and I think it is very under estimated how much it can help. I didn't have any side affects with last round of ICSI and I'm sure it was down to having acupuncture. It is supposed to really help with side effects and also the quality of your eggs. I also take daily supplements which I think helped last time too as managed to produce 12 good quality eggs.
Will let you all know how I get on with my scan on November 10th. Hope to start nasal spray soon after.
Lets hope we all have our babies for Christmas eh!

Hi all!

Am starting the 2nd stage today!

Checked this morning and I've got nice quiet ovaries with no cysts and a thin lining so it's all going to plan!

I am trying to be optomistic but the over 40s thread is on a run of terrible luck.

One moment I feel certin I will be having a baby, but as soon as i see a bay anywhere, I just want to cry because i think i will never have one.

Anyway - can't stop - am off to Villa V Burnley and it might not go the way i hope either!

ESKAVON........

For me the ice would be worse than the inj, but at least you don't need to do them yourself. 6wks of injections is not such a long time. especially when you will look back on this in 11 months and say ' can't believe i was worrying about a little prick when i have just given birth to a 8 pounder'.

[Time to get on your groovy train of PMA PMA PMA........................
Image Image Image Image

AMFY.....hope your team wins tonight. glad your are now on the 2nd stage and that everything looks positive. I am 38 and was pregnant naturally a year ago. This will be my last ivf, and the docs arn't hopeful it will work. I have 'tired ovaries' that didn't respond well to drugs last time. They told me a woman of 28 could have the same problems i have. So whatever your age (I don't know what yours is?) If you have been given such a clean bill of healthy ovaries and lining I am sure you have many chances left. try to keep that PMA high..i hope all works out for you and you'll be BFP soon. ....... Get on Eskavon's groovy train of PMA.

nicky- How are you doing Girl? Hanging in there? Hope AF arrives tomorrow for you. I am still waiting on mine!

Love to all

hi all
i have been to clinic again and had my baseline scan done , all great.
had all our bloods done, all great.
had smear done results in 6/8 weeks
change of b.p tablets and these seem to be actually working....
so ... i start to sniff on 02/11. and because its fet its just a matter of scans to check the lining. says she ever so flippint as if its no big deal. when really im scared to death..
so many hurdles to get through in such short spaces of time.
by the way i am 42, and just for those of you who are worried about getting pregnant, we got a positive on our 2nd attempt, 2 years ago.
we have 4 embiees and the grades are 2 ,2 ,2/3, and not graded.
we are going to thaw all 4 and see how many survive and they only want to put back in 2, but have said if we realy want 3, then they will, but to be aware we could have triplets, it is possible for us old women to have this also. as if i dont know that,, but i suppose they are just covering their backs.
anyway, talk soon
love jackie xx

Hi everyone, Hope everyone is full of PMA

Dancola, lots and lots of thanks for the info. It is really very useful to me. It has given me a clear picture of what to expect. I m deeply sorry that your 3 attempts were not successful BIG HUGSSSS.... 4 U. Are you going for another try? I'm sure u can get BFP this time. Everything crossed for you dear.

Eskavon, Sorry abt the jabs that you had to go through. I remember how I created a scene everytime I had an injection during my last cycle, I never got used to it. I understand how u feel abt the delay. I'm sure all will go to plan and u will receive the present u deserve (BFP BFP BFP). LOL to U...

Jenni Babes, I m going to ask the doc abt the blasto this Fri but he is a Kinda impatient guy. He blasted out "non sense" when I asked him is it possible for us to go for IVF instead of ICSI during my first visit.

Gemma, good to know that all is going well. fingers crossed for all of us to have BFP for christmas.

Chanteq-Good to read the word "MOMMIES" refereing to us.

Amfy, good luck on your 2nd stage. It is normal to feel up and down at this time. I have accepted the mood swings and come to understand myself and what we are going through better after coming to this site. I have learnt that the very important thing is 'positive thought' so stick to any PMA that appears.

JackieT, Good luck on your FET everything sounds great, I'm sure you'll have a BFP. \

Oops! such a long post, sorry all (I'm too free at home)

love all

New to the site

Post by JFESTEN »

Hi All
I am new to posting on these sites. I am in the middle of my first IVF cycle. I feel like I want to talk about this all the time as it is such a surreal experience however, not many people that can relate.
Plus I try not to tell too many people as then too many questions when I don't want to talk about it.
I hope to be getting a retrival Halloween or right after. I had such a positive attitude but have more and more started to think that it just won't work.
How do people gear up for this and decide how often to do this? I have one son that I conceived naturally but it appears that was pretty lucky of me. I have a blocked tube and am now going to turn 39.
I always thought that my family would have two kids.

I wanted to ask about side effects. I haven't gotten moody at all but once they increased my dose, I cannot get comfortable sitting at all. Seems my butt is always sore and I haven't even started shots there yet. Anyone else have this?

Would love to have people to talk to as I get to the end of this cycle and get through the 2ww.

Thanks all!
Mother of one 4/12 year old conceived naturally Now 39 and trying for number 2 with IVF

hi guys

hope everyone is well.

sallyc, hope you had a great time in spain and that it was for pleasure, not work! if so, you certainly do things in style....holidays before dr.

penny and eskavon, sorry to hear about your delays but when you both have BFPs it'll have been worth it. hang on in there, it's just around the corner.

hey chel, don't let your doc rush you even if he is impatient. it's his job to discuss options with you and answer all your questions. hope he performs for you on friday!

gemma, i was feeling like you last week when i found out my sis in law was pregnant but now that i've finally started my cycle i'm totally focussed on that. hell, my mother in law can announce she's pregnant for all i care now. of course it's perfectly normal to think 'and me??' but it'll happen for you too, just keep the faith.
you too amfy, i've got my fingers crossed for all us girls.

i started dregging on friday and so far so good, i feel great. the only thing is i'm always starving. last night i ate dh's dinner as well as my own. i mean, i've always had a good appetite but this is ridiculous! sound familiar to anyone?

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry just needed to vent some rage, feel better for that  I had a half day from work today and thought I would do a bit of retail therapy, however the shops are full of teenage mothers, child in one hand, fag in the other. Life sometimes just doesnt seem fair.
On the plus side it saved me a fortune because I came home :?

My cat is doing a good job of cheering me up by trying to sit on the keyboard, which makes it quite difficult to type, think its a hint he is hungry.

Hope everybody else is feeling nice and calm. :D

Gail

Sounds like you had a pretty disastrous time, and no wonder - situations like that are maddening aren't they?

Vent all you like, I reckon you'll find a big support gang here.

Take care and big hugs.
