2nd attempt - ICSI (Nov '05)

Post by Gemma »

Hi I'm Gemma and new to the site (and not really sure what I am doing at the moment!)
Am not really sure how to find the different codes and am a bit lost with the site at the moment!!??!! Anyway ....
My husband and I have been TTC for about 18 months now. We have already had an attempt at ICSI but unfortunately unsuccessful. We are at the Lister clinic. We are having our second attempt soon .... am currently on the pill and due for my first scan November 10th.
Would love to chat to anyone who is in a similar boat to me at the moment. Or anyone really!!
I was so upset when the last round didn't work and feel like I am the only person in the world going through it all! It's especially difficult having 2 new baby's in my family too! Gemma[/code]

Welcome to the site and good luck with the treatment.

To help you with all the abbreviations on the board there is a thread on the General Forum at the top which is a long list of all the abbreviations that are being used - hope this helps.

You will also find a thread for November 05 buddies which is where all the girls who are undergoing treatment in November talk to each other sharing their experiences and comparing notes - you might find it helpful to chat to them. It's a good support.

Any questions you have don't hesitate to ask as there are always girls here willing to help out if they can.

Take care.

Hi Gemma, welcome!

My first ICSI was also not successful (BIG shock, big disappointment, end of the world) but the 2nd is planned for January.

Good luck for your scan!

Take care

Hi there!

Thanks so much for your message and for welcoming me to the site!

I'm not sure whether you were the same as me but at the time of a negative result you feel like your world has come to an end! but once you start looking towards your next attempt you feel so much better.

Which clinic are you having your treatment with?

My husband and I are moving up to Northamptonshire next week so will keep my mind off things for a while!

Good luck with the move - as you said it will certainly occupy your mind.

Take care of yourself and get as much relaxation as you can.

Hi Souris!

I'm not bad thanks, busy packing up at the moment (in between tapping away on my new laptop!). We are moving out on Monday but are unable to move into our house in Northampton (it's a new build) so are having to stay in a hotel in Croydon for a few days. I guess it breaks it all up though.

How is everything with you?

Hi Gemma,

I know how it's like to pack up, I have done it so many times! Good thing though, keeps your mind occupied, and it's always exciting to move in a new home! (new home, new life, baby soon!!)

I am counting the days until Xmas when I will be going home! :D .
DH And i leave abroad and i cant wait to be home although I will have a lot of work as I am renovating the whole house (Big DIY work, which I love! I am going to put wooden floor in the sitting room and new tiles in the kitchen!)
Then it will be January, Dh will go back to work and I will try for a baby!!

Until then i am trying to keep my spirits up... i am on a diet and I already lost few pounds, which is great!!

Good luck with the moving! have a nice few days break at the hotel!

Take care

Gemma

Good luck with the house move - I hope you don't have to wait too long until you can move into the new place.

Take care

Thanks guys ... will be taking laptop with me so hopefully can use in the hotel? Should still be around next week to stay updated with everyones news.

So Souris, where is home? Sounds like you have huge plans to keep you busy, all sounds very exciting!

Yes I am hoping that the old saying of new house, new baby will apply to me! Here's hoping and praying.

Wherabouts are you with your treatment?

Thanks everyone!
Yes I agree, the girls on this site are terrific and really supportive. You don't feel so alone in it all do you.
Well after a day of packing up boxes, I am exhausted! Every part of my body aches and I still have the weekend of packing to get through yet!
Roll on Monday ......
Hope you are all well?
