Natural Remedies

Post by Karenwinter »

Please can anyone help.

I have had a lap & dye done and seen the results as bilateral tubal block with thin walled hydrosalpinx.

Which I think means both tubes are blocked at one end and are filled with a thin layer of liquid. I am seeing my specialist on the 12th may to discuss this with him and see what my options are.

I was just wondering if there are any herbal things I could take to help blocked tubes etc.

I am getting very worried about getting the results as half of me wants to know what is exactly wrong so that we can put our minds at rest and start whatever treatment is required but the other half of me
would rather put my head in the sand and try and forget all this is happening as I just get so depressed thinking "What if i never have children"! I know I should stay positive but it is very hard.

Hope to hear from someone soon

xx

Dear Karen

Your message has srtuck a real chord with me. Like you, I have blocked tubes, and finding this out was one of the most stressful times. Part of me had almost been hoping that they'd find a problem, because I wanted a reason why we hadn't conceived for more than a year, but even so it raises more stress and worry and "what if?" questions.

When you have your follow-up appointment try to find out whether your tubes are fully blocked or partially blocked. I don't think there is anything herbal you can do, but if they're partly blocked then some people believe accupuncture can help, and it can certainly help with the stress.

They may give you the option of an operation to try to unblock your tubes, or recommend going straight to IVF. If you are recommended for IVF then the consultant should tell you whether its provided on the NHS in your area, what the waiting list etc. If its not available on the NHS (which it isn't in lots of areas), then if you can consider going private there's information about the different clinics' success rates on this site.

I've been through a fair bit since then (which I won't bore you with!) but I can honestly say that the most difficult bit of the whole process are the early stages of finding out there's a problem and then, if you do need IVF treatment, getting to the point of starting treatment. I wish I'd known about this website when I was at that stage as it really is invaluable for getting both practical information and emotional support.

Anyway, good luck and let us know how the follow up appointment goes.

Alison x

KAren

good luck on the tubes - if they aren't too bad then surgery might be the best option.
Mine are buggered and had so many adhesions that IVF was the only way forward - first IVF resulted in ectopic - very common with tubal problems I am afraid so I only have one knackered tube now anyway.
Good luck anyway
Love
Tracey
xxxxxxx
