After Sterilization reversal

Post by Sillylally »

Hi, my name is Sally, I live in Sussex UK. I am 37 years old. I had my sterilization reversed in November 2004 & have been trying for a baby eversince.

I may have to go through IVF in the near future, depending on whether or not my tubes have blocked up after the surgery. They were open immediately after !

I would love to hear from any of you who have had a reversal & to hear your stories.

Good luck to all of you here. Thank you for letting me join you here even though I am not having IVF right now.

After sterilization

Post by Sillylally »

Hi Jackie, thank you for replying, it gave me lots to look forward to. How long did you try before going for IVF ? The Dr said that my right tube only had one clip left on it & was hardly damaged. The left one had slight damage but was still 8cm.
the Dr has told us to try until after xmas & then go for the dye test to see if the tubes closed up again.
My friend has gone in for it today.
I will keep you posted, my personal email is babyspam@onetel.com, feel free to drop me an email anytime.
Thank you again for your VERY encouraging reply. meant a lot to me.

Sally, I was also sterilised yonks ago (in a no-child marriage). Fast forward 15 years and I didn't even consider reversal after being told the low odds of success and no guarantee how long they'd stay open for (not helped that the hospital records had no details of whether my tubes had been clipped or cut and cauterised).

No matter, when DF persuaded me to try for a baby, we went straight to IVF and were first time lucky! Our daughter is 2.5 and cute as a button. We managed two more +ve results but with no long term success.

Good luck
Debra.
