Hi

Am having my EC on wednesday so I guess I qualify to join you November buddies! My stomache feels like its about to explode and I'm struggling to do my trousers up!! Thats definitely something I won't miss....along with the nightly injections (last one tonight - hurray!!).

Am a bit nervous about wednesday, probably because its the unknown. But at least there are others of you who I can chat with when the 2WW is driving me insane! Here's wishing everyone lots of PMA!

Hi all. How ya doing on this NOVEMBER DAY?

I am up late tonight as AF cramps very painful... NOT that i am complaining, but just hoping all works out.
With PMA I am taking 1 positive day at a time.

We went to the movies tonight and saw 'the curse of the were-rabbit' ( the new Wallace and Grommit film).It was so funny and took my mind of the next few days.
We haven't told any of our family about this scan on thursday. Don't want to get the 'grandparents' hopes up. Last time there was too much pressure and phone calls so we have decided to keep it quiet until we are positive that EC will go ahead. How's everyone else coping with that?

eskavon- how are you doing to-day? Keep on jigging...Hoping all goes well for you and AF arrives soon.


pirokp- good luck for the following month hope all works out for you and your friend. She's a lucky woman to have you. LOL

Well, i am having a bad time at the moment. Caught a big fat cold and just can’t get rid of it. Feeling really sorry for myself at the moment (sorry).

Sally C poor you - I hate having colds at the best of times. Everyone forgets how rotten they feel (like it's "just" a cold) until they've got one themselves. The DP has had one hanging about for weeks so I won't go near him! I think it must feel worse to get one now because you will be stressing about whether you are going into the process in the best of health. Take loads of Vit C, keep warm and allow yourself to slow down and look after yourself. You might not usually be the kind of person who takes time off with a cold - but this time - do it!

My latest news is that yesterday's scan showed 6 (poss 7) good sized follicles. I have one final check on Friday morning and they will give me my EC date and time on Friday afternoon. It will be either Monday or Tuesday of next week. Our nurse is very pleased with us.

I'm a bit annoyed though because the last time I went, the nurse I saw gave me the wrong medication. She told me to take the steroids which are for post ET, instead of the ones to promote follicle growth. Our usual nurse says not to worry because theres no harm done and I've done really well "on my own". Whats that supposed to mean? - surely we're not paying £3500 for me to do this "on my own". I thought at the time that the other nurse was vague and disinterested and I nearly rang the clinic the next day to double check what she'd told me. I wish I had now! DP is spitting flames but I am telling myself that I can't afford to be angry - I need calm happy vibes. On the other hand, I can't help thinking that if I'd been given the right medication, i might have an even better chance than i've got now.

Also a funny thing from yesterday. Our sex life has been a dessert since this programme started but I was being tactful, taking on board all Zita West's stuff about the man feeling marginalised and sufferring low self-esteem, even impotence. I thought, "I won't push it". Still, with only a week till EC, I was aware that we need to "get things moving" so to speak, if he's going to give a quality sample.

Anyway, I tried the angle of talking about how long it is going to be before we can have sex again (i.e. get it while you can!). Definitely nothing during the 2ww. Zita recommends abstention for the first trimester if it works, and we have to absain for 2 days before EC. This was the point when he says "What do you mean 2 days before?" Turns out, he thought we were supposed to have been abstaining all the way through the process! It's good to talk eh?

Anyway bit of a long rambly post. Good Luck to everyone, it seems many of us are on the way now!

6 or 7 eggs is good isn’t it? Remember…it only needs one to get there!!! Can understand that u feel angry though. I would complain to the clinic officially to be honest. If the nurse was all disinterested she is obviously in the wrong job …I hate people like that.
