Hi all - lovely to catch up with all your news - it makes me really excited reading your posts. Roughly when did you start getting proper kicks? I'm getting anxious that I can't feel much and I'm 20 weeks next week - I'm quite thin (size 10 normally) so I thought that meant you felt them earlier?
Not good news on Nan unfortunately - they've finally diagnosed a stroke and a heart attack and the chances of her regaining memory are really slim so unfortunately she will never meet our baby (well she'll never know who it is) even though she was so excited about my pregnancy just a few weeks ago. At least I told her at my cousins wedding when I was 9 weeks pregnant and showed her my scans - she was over the moon so that will be a nice memory for me to hold onto even though she doesn't remember herself.
I'm goiing to catch up on previous pages now before I do personal replies because it sounds like Olivia's been on and Smita's had a lovely surprise etc but I need to go back a page to find out! Speak soon,

Wow - loads of news - its been really busy on here lately.
Lil P - yes I'm goiing to have 20 week scan next week and find out sex if I can - I'm terribly impatient and just can't wait (although I'll probably wish I waited afterwards!) I know what you mean about housework - if I'm in the mood I'll do hours and get really houseproud but usually I find I can't get up the energy so I just do none moast of the time - it' s all or nothing for me! Have a fantastic hol.
jacs - have a fantastic holiday - it'll really help the time to pass too. I can't believe we're almost at the half way point. Are you goiing to find out the sex or are you goiing to wait for a surprise?
Smita - great news on DH - I was really happy for you, it made me smile to hear the excitement in your post.
Olivia - that would be great if we did end up in at same time - really exciting. When's your date now then? You're right about Christmas, it's coming round really fast - must start shopping soon and I might let myself buy one or two little things for the baby! When will you start shopping?
Kim - nice to hear you're staying on here aswell as 3rd tri - I think I will do same when I reach that point.
Vicky congratulations on reaching 2nd trimetster - fantastically exciting isn't it? Don't worry about being on your own - as Lil P was saying most of us will probably stay on here through 3rd tri too aswell aqs posting on other thread.
Esther - glad to hear you're getting some time off. I really don't know how people manage to work fulltime through this - greatest respect to anyone that is but I have to have my afternoon naps, constant wees, many sit downs and many baths and I don't think my job (teaching dance and drama) would have accomodated it!
Hi to Minnow - hope you're starting to feel a little better now.
Hi to everyone else - I hope I haven't forgotten anyone - if I have apologies - i am still half asleep!

Cheryl

Great to hear from you. Don't worry about the kicking sensation - when it is your first baby it tends to take a while longer for you to realise what is going on. My book says that you usually start to feel flutterings/kicks from around 16 - 24 weeks. Believe me when you see your 20 week scan you'll be amazed at how much movement goes on without you knowing

The weather is absolutely horrible today so I can't be bothered to go out and do anything - I shall probably go to bed for a couple of hours as I am really tired (again!).

Big hugs to you all.

Hie

Nice to see that everyone is doing great. Myself am doing great as well.

Cheryl- You are right, its hard to work at this time especially with all the changes going on in our bodies at the moment. I think my body is just geared to work now even on my days off I cant manage an afternoon nap. But I have no choice having businesses in 4 different countrys, my lyfe as well as my baby's life depend on them, so life has to go on. Howz your nan doing now, hope she is ok. how are you your self.

Kim - Your baby seems very active, its a lovely feeling when babys kick. Mine woke me up last night , it was just kicking and happy for over an hour I could not sleep until it decided to stop. It was 3am when I finally went back to sleep. Lucky you are now near your maternity leave, waking up for work is the hardest thing to do at the moment, Iam trying to sort out as much as I can so that I will not be disturbed with work when my baby is here. But its good as I have also cut down on flying, as I had DVT scare last week.

Carlaic - Great news on your 2 boys. Myself I will wait for the surprise.

Hope everyone is doing great. Lets enjoy this precious time.

Esther - your work sounds really exciting - are they your own businesses? Wow - 4 countries, that's fab - quite an empire really - praps you'll have a little Branson or Anita Roddick in there waiting to emerge!! I do admire you - I wish I had more energy but I had a horrendous last year at work, the school bunt down where I taught and there was a terrible internal crisis that I can't discuss but let's just say it put me off work completely (for a while at least). I can't really afford not to work but me and DH have taken out various extra mortgages to tide us over until I'm fulltime again so feels great right now but it's gonna come back to bite me when I have to start paying it all off!!
Thanks Vicky, Jacs and Lil P for kind thoughts re Nan. The latets news is she's comfortable and isn't aware that she's like she is so maybe that's best really.
Carla I'm thrilled about your two little lads but mortified that I forgot you in my last post. So sorry, you know how pregnant brains go and mine is very scatty at the moment!
Hi to everyone else - hope everyone's gonna have a lovely fireworks night (if you celebrate Nov 5th) - As for me I'll be nursing my dog who is utterly terrified of the bangs!
Speak soon,
Much love, Cherylxx

Cheryl

Big hugs to your poor dog - what a dreadful night for him (or her!!).

I'm glad your nan is stable, but know that it doesn't take away the sadness that you are feeling. I'm sorry you're having to face this at the moment.

Little One is having a very "moving" time at the moment - quite a few light kicks and then this sort of movement that causes a smile on my face as it's kind of a jumpy, tickly sensation. It's lovely   :D

Big hugs to everyone - hope you are all ok.

Hi everyone!
Thank you all for your lovely messages.
I'm happy, though its been a mixed visit. My father in law has not been keeping well- heart problems, so this has been a trip totally concentrating on doctors and hospitals..I haven't gotten any time alone with dh, though the fact that he's here is good enough.. I only wish I had some 'me and you' time with him, though its not likely cause we're seeing more doctors tomorrow- or rather, he is with his parents as they don't want me to strain myself..the sad part is, even at night we're sharing a room with the elders as my mom's place has only 2 bedrooms..

Oh well, he's here thats good enough for now- he leaves tuesday early morning.
Still no kicks from little one, though dh could feel little ones taps-or are they what are called kicks? Somehow I seem to think, kicks would hurt, so not calling them kicks..

Little P,
You're off monday, so wish you a wonderful wonderful time on holiday.

Jacs,
Have a lovely time with dh and dont miss your babies too much!

carla,
Amazing to hear abt your babies- have you thought of names?

Esther,
Your work sounds tough but interesting..are you an exporter?

Kim,
Have you started your antenatal classes here?
Dont have that option near where I live- have to travel far..

Cheryl,
Sorry to hear abt your nan..it can be so tough to see older ppl suffer..

Susie,
How're you doing?

Vicky
Welcome to the second tri..

Gavin,
I hope Gen and Gemma are ok.. you guys are also going on holiday, right?

Smita

Sorry that your precious time with DH is not as private as you would have hoped. I do hope that you manage to get some "us" time before he leaves.

Make sure you have a lovely big "hold me tight" cuddle at night - it helps sometimes!!

Those taps do sound like kicks to me. The start of lightly, but I've been warned that once Little One gets bigger s/he will be making her/his presence felt a lot more. Hope you are enjoying it :D

Big hugs and fingers crossed for your father-in-law and a speedy recovery.

Hie Everyone

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

CC- The sound of the fireworks is all I can hear right now. When I was driving a few hours ago I panicked because I thot someone had smashed my car from behind, only to see that it was an almighty firework. Howz your dear dog doing. Iam not firing fireworks myself but iam just enjoying watching them shooting to the sky.

Smita- Its good to hear you are doing great. Like you said the good thing is your dh is there with you right now. I will pray for your baby to give you a wrestler's kick for you to believe that its kicking. If your DH can feel the kicks its most obvious the little one is active and kicking. My DH only started feeling the kicks last monday. Dont worry yourself toomuch, enjoy your baby's kicks at the moment. Iam sorry about your father-in -law and your situation.

LittleP- have a lovely holiday.

Kim - how are you.

Carla- how are you.

vicky- hie.

everyone else have a lovely weekend.

Hi Ladies,

Just popping in to say hello to all of you! I found the second trimester to be filled with lots of questions and feelings. The third trimester has brought a whole wave of different emotions. Our baby's movements are stronger, my ankles and feet are swollen, it's getting uncomfortable to sleep and walk and the thought of preparing for birth is at the forefront of our minds. It has been a blessed time all around.

I just had my last checkup where they did the Group B Strep test. I had my first internal exam for the doctor to check if I've dilated at all and how low the baby is right now. Lucky for us the baby is head down and in position, but hasn't "dropped" yet. I will be going for checkups weekly now where they will put me on the fetal monitor to see the baby's activity level. My doctor advsd the baby is approximately 6-7 lbs and if I don't go into Labor by 41 weeks or Dec 9th, they will induce labor. So we are getting excited to meet our first son or daughter.

I sincerely hope everyone is doing well. Take Care all!

Christine
