At last can start IVF

Post by Helen GB »

I have at last managed to log on after re-registering twice.

I frequented the boards a little while ago (helen B) when I was first being investigated for infertility problems. All our tests came back normal except I had an FSH issue which for the moment seems to be resolved and we have been told that I can now start IVF. My specialist has advised us to go straight to IVF as I am now 38 and as FSH could be a problem, time is not on my side. I am at Queen Mary's, Roehampton and am self-funding as the cut of age in my local Health Authority for NHS treatment is 35. I have read the many posts here of people going through this traumatic procedure and hope I can be as brave. I am dreading having my treatment cancelled if my FSH levels start to go up again. Does anyone know whether they will retest these and if so when?

Hoping I can offer help as well as receive it
Helen

38, ttc for 3 years
FSH test results 20, 11.2 and 9.

PS Forgot to add that I have 1 son age 10 conceived with the help of Clomid. Unfortunately, Clomid didn't do the trick this time.
