Headaches anyone?

Post by brs888 »

I have been having horrible headaches the last three days. I didn't have many problems with morning sickness, but when I get the headaches I am extremely nauseous.

Did anyone else experience this in their 11th week? If so, do you have any tips? The doc told me I could try tylenol, but that didn't seem to do much.

Headaches are the one thing that I haven't had in the long list of 1st trimester woes!

They are a common symptom, though. I watched a show on Discovery Health this weekend that was cute - Pregnancy for Dummies. It talked about headaches during the first trimester. Tylenol and ice packs are what they recommended....after talking to you doctor first :)

Hie brs888

Iam sorry you are going through the headaches phase. Like you I didnt have any sickness at all apart from headaches which came around my 11th -16th weeks. I didnt take anything as I personally didnt like the idea of taking medication in pregnancy. I always made sure my Blood Pressure was not too high or too low and taking lots of fluids. Also I found out that taking a bath relieved my headaches so much.

The headaches will eventually go away. But I wish I had any other more useful advice to give you on this problem.

take care

Esther.

Hi
I am 8 weeks tomorrow and I am getting headaches - I try to ride them out - one got unbearable and I took two paracetamol which I am told is ok (it is the same as tylenol - I think)

I love discovery health didn't see that program though - can't watch the births since my BFP :!: :!:

Hope you feel better soon brs888

Hey!

I was fine until week 12- I got a migraine from Hades that lasted 17 hours before I called the Dr. on call... Every doc is different- every clinic is different. Every one is different on how they want to treat their pregnancy...I am a health care provider as well (dentist) and when I have a pt that is pregnant- I always confer with their OB before Rx any meds... for example an abcessed tooth..You have to place pt on antibiotics and some type of pain relief..Pain increases blood pressure. puts you and baby under undo stress.. Anyway... Point being sometimes you need to take something

My OB told me that your blood volume doubles between 12 and 20 weeks... Which will cause some women to have incapacitating headaches...that headache that I got in week 12 has gone away on some days and resurfaced horribly on other days. she called them Cluster headaches. I get sick to my stomach- throw up and can't lie down comfortably..One night after work, I had to go to the ER because I could not move my head- got a shot of Nubain( non narcotic ok for baby) They have Rx a drug called Friocet for me to take 1-2 tabs every 4-6 hours as needed for the pain.. I have. My dr. laughed when I said that I was taking tylenol for the discomfort.. he said that was like eating candy.. You just need to do what is best for you and what you think is best for your baby and rest of your family.. Your dr. will help you make the decision.. I fully believe that an OB would not do anything to jeopordize you or your baby.. I hope that I did not ramble on too much..I hope that you feel better

Oh.. My acupuncturist said that placing a heating pad on your feet would help.. I haven't tried it because I don't have a heating pad..

Hope this helps...
