Poll about IVF... Thanks for your participation

Post by tpe2005es »

Hello everybody, first we'll introduce ourselves. We are French students who are making a study about IVF in France and in the USA (do you know other American boards about IVF for us to find as many testimonies as possible), that's why we would like to ask you your help by answering us.

age : sex : job : family situation :

1 - How could you define the in vitro fertilisation (IVF) ? What do you think about it ?

2 - Do you know people among your relatives who have used IVF ? If yes, how are they feeling about it ?

3 - According to you, is there a difference between a vitro fertilized baby and a normal baby ?

4 - Do you think there can be moral consequences on the IVF-baby and his family ? Do you think the baby can be a victim of discriminations ?

5 - When a IVF is made, some unused embryos are frozen. Do you think it's acceptable ?

6 - Would you use a IVF to choose your child's sex ?

7 - In order to save your first baby who is extremely ill, would you use a IVF knowing that you would have to keep the new-born-baby ?

8 - Would you agree on giving your ovums/sperm for one of your relatives ?

9 - To your mind, what are the obstacles that the IVF can meet ?

10 - How do you see the evolution of the in vitro fertilisation ?

Thank you very much :)

- How could you define the in vitro fertilisation (IVF) ? What do you think about it ?
it takes alot of heart ache to get here. i am very thankful for ivf. with out it i never would have been able to feel my child inside of me.there wouldnt have been any hope of ever having a child.

2 - Do you know people among your relatives who have used IVF ? If yes, how do they live it ?
dont understand your question. it was me who did ivf. most dont understand unless they have had to live it. you get poked and prouded and
one second everything is going great and the next your whole world is falling apart.

3 - According to you, is there a difference between a vitro fertilized baby and a normal baby ?
why would there be a difference?

4 - Do you think there can be moral consequences on the IVF-baby and his family ? ivf babies arnt born any different then one that got pregnant on there own. except for that the fact that we know how lucky we are to be havoing a baby.
Do you think the baby can be a victim of discriminations ?
only from people of ingoranceivf babies arnt born with horns!!!

5 - When a IVF is made, some unused embryos are frozen. Do you think it's acceptable ? yes!!!!!!!! with out frozen embryos i wouldnt have beable to get pregnant with my twins or with my son.

6 - Would you use a IVF to choose your child's sex ?
no i wouldnt. but i have a friend who couldnt go full turm when pregnant with her daughters. she kept mc. so she got pregnant with her son and has been able to have 3 sons and they are wonderful.
in that case i would want to have choose what sex.
but it is not for me to tell anyone what is right and what is wrong. i am not in there shoes.

7 - In order to save your first baby who is extremely ill, would you use a IVF knowing that you would have to keep the new-born-baby ?
i think this is a personal question. i would do what ever i could do to save my child. and i would welcome and cherish each life that was given to me.
one cant take the place oh another but it can enhance eachother.

8 - Would you agree on giving your ovums/sperm for one of your relatives ?
i would in a heart beat

9 - To your mind, what are the obstacles that the IVF can meet ?
giving the gift of life

10 - How do you see the evolution of the in vitro fertilisation ?
i am 41 i am in the us. and i have been very blessed. :)

Could other people answer us please, that would be very nice :)

And, do you know American website about the ivf which describe what the against-ivf think ?

Thank you again...

Is it only to be answered from people from the USA or France?

Most of us on this site are British, or from other countries such as India, Austrailia, Germany, New Zealand and many more.

What is HTTP proxy server?
HTTP proxy server is a proxy allowing to work on the Internet with HTTP and (not always) FTP protocols. It can carry out caching of information downloaded from the Internet. Now HTTP proxy servers are the most widespread. Their support (ability to use them) is included into many programs: browsers, download managers etc. However, their support is not realized at a level of an operating system ? in order to use them, you should configure all programs, which should use proxies, in an appropriate way. HTTP proxy servers have several anonymity levels.

As a fellow researcher I would be happy to answer your survey

age : sex : job : family situation :
35: Female: Psychologist: Married
1 - How could you define the in vitro fertilisation (IVF) ? What do you think about it ?

IVF is an advanced medical procedure to help infertile couples who are unable to concieve naturally. I think it is amazing.

2 - Do you know people among your relatives who have used IVF ? If yes, how are they feeling about it ?

I have not known anyone who has ever used IVF besides myself.

3 - According to you, is there a difference between a vitro fertilized baby and a normal baby ?

I think they are "special" in the same sense adopted children are "special". They are very wanted little individuals.

4 - Do you think there can be moral consequences on the IVF-baby and his family ? Do you think the baby can be a victim of discriminations ?

It is possible that the IVF baby could be discriminated against due to a lack of understanding. There are many people with many types of prejudices most of which are the resu;t of ignorance.

5 - When a IVF is made, some unused embryos are frozen. Do you think it's acceptable ?

I am pregnant from a frozen embryo. I have no moral objection to th efreezing of embryos.

6 - Would you use a IVF to choose your child's sex ?

No

7 - In order to save your first baby who is extremely ill, would you use a IVF knowing that you would have to keep the new-born-baby ?

I don't understand this question

8 - Would you agree on giving your ovums/sperm for one of your relatives ?

No

9 - To your mind, what are the obstacles that the IVF can meet ?

The question (likely the translation) is unclear

10 - How do you see the evolution of the in vitro fertilisation ?

Freezing of eggs
Thank you very much
