Esther - Im sorry to hear about your scare. Thank goodness things seem to be ok. Look after yourselves.
Olivia - Im glad you are ok too. Its good to hear you are resting and taking it easy. Take care.
Smita - Im back to part time at work now. I leave work on the 2nd December. I have a weeks holiday and then Maternity leave officially startes on the 12th. Cant wait!! It will be our 3rd Antenatal class this week. Yes, DH does come with me. He really seems to enjoy it. There are 5 of us (couples) in total. I think its good for him to mix with other fathers to be. Last week the teacher made the men wear a back back (on their front) with the weight of a full term baby including additional weight of fluid, placenta etc. I think they realised what we were going through then!
My baby doesnt respond after a meal either. Or after drinking a cold drink, which the midwife said might set her off. I tend to feel more at night as well, or if I am sat still for a while. I think our babies, just like us are all different. I was a bit worried that although I can still feel her moving/kicking regularly, I feel she has become less active. However, I have noticed a growth spurt in the last few days and my abdomen feels more solid now, so I think theres less room for her. Im seeing the midwife this week, so will check with her.
To get her kicking now, I find if I lie on my left side it gets her going. Actually I think its because its uncomfortable for her! Poor thing! Also if I prod my tummy she sometimes responds. My mum says Im cruel and should leave the poor thing alone!!
Take care everyone

Smita - sorry to hear you've been feeling down. Hope things seem brighter. I too have lost track with what nookie is - it just seems too much hassle at the moment! I wonder how quickly people resume 'activities' after labour? That really scares me - I can't believe I'm already worrying about that already, still I've always got to have something to worry about!
Smita and Kim - I too only really feel my little one first thing in morning and last thing at night - he / she seems to sleep the rest of the time. I keep prodding and poking but there's no response so must be very laid back and relaxed in there. Perhaps it matters what you eat as to whether you get a response after food - perhaps we should start an experiment to see what if anything has an effect?!
P.S talking of food does anyone know if smoked mackeral is okay to eat? I know it should be good (brain food) but is it okay that its smoked rather than cooked or do I need to look for baked or something?
Olivia - I'm so glad you've been feeling great and there's been no more scares. Lovely to have the time to rest too especially with Christmas coming. What is MUMs? I've had my scans at the Foetal Imaging Centre in Leamington (recommended by my midwife) and I haven't been invited for any scans at Walsgrave (the only NHS one was at 12 weeks at Rugby) seems really mean! They are apparently starting up the 20 week scans again but not yet (typical!). Are you booked in for antenatal? I couldn't get in at Rugby so booked at Walsgrave but the earliest they could give me was 2nd March start for a 4 week course. Sounds very late for me, I'll be about 25 days away from EDD when classes start! Still, at least I'll be in the right place if labour comes early!
Esther - great news that you're feeling good. What sort of biscuits start your little one off? Chocolate? As you can see from above I'm goiing to start experimenting with whether I can get mine to respond. I'd love to find an excuse to eat chocolate biscuits so please say they are!! Re scans - most hospitals in Warwickshire offer a 12 week and 20 week scan except for the one me and Olivia are booked into (Walsgrave).. It's because it is a brand new maternity hospital and they are struggling with workload I believe. My friend from Portsmouth was only offered a 16 week scan though which is common down there so I guess it depends where you live as to whether you get offered two. I agree with you that it should be regulation that everyone gets 12 and 20 because they are so important - I'm just glad I had the chance to do it privately - there's no way I was goiing to miss out. It was amazing though like you said, our little one did a lovely big yawn while we watched and I fell in love with him / her even morte than I already had.
Jacs and Lil P - hope you're both enjoying your sunbathing and making the most of the sun. It' misearble weather here so you've made the right choice. Should help to pass time too - I'm finding the 2nd tri really dragging - keep wishing away the weeks!
Hi to Vicky, Danica, Ange - how are you all keeping? How was your 12/13 week scans?
Gen and Gav - you're nearly 3rd tri now aren't you? How's it all goiing? Have you made any purchases yet?
Hi too to HM, Joy, Carla and Debbie - any news from you guys?
P.S what happened to Ultimatemama? Did she change names or has she moved off site? I seem to have lost track of her somewhere,
Happy flutterings and kicks,

Chery,
Hi there,I am doing well.
Still neaurotic as always. I have been getting bad RL pain and keep thinking it's something terrible that's happening.
Does anyone feel like their stomach has shrunk at times? Or it's not growing as quickly as you think it should? I know I am so wacky but I swear everything worries me.
Smita dear I am sorry you are so down , it doesn't help that the hormones make us so emotional too. I have been crying for no reason at all.
take care

I've moved over to the 3rd Trimester. Best wishes and see you all very soon.
I have to say that the second trimester felt really good. The weight gain is starting to slow me down now. . .

Hi Joy - not sure what RL stands for but I get pains in my stomach and feel it must be growing pains or something. They seem to correspond to my bump getting bigger and yes I often feel like there's not enough room in there. If you're worried perhaps you should get in with GP or midwife just to reassure yourself. I know what you mean about being neurotic - I'm constantly worrying about something or other - maybe it's just preparing us for the next 18 years - constant worry and stress!!
Sher, congrats on reaching 3rd tri, must be a great feeling. I'm sorry you're feeling a little tired but hopefully you can also get a bit more rest now too. Pop back now and again to let us know how you're doiing,
Best of luck,
Cheryl

Thanks ladies for your wonderful posts iam doing fine and haven't had any more scares yet. I hope it was a one off thing.
Looks like iam carrying the most active baby in the 2nd tri. When I went for my 20wk scan The sonographer had a tough time because my baby would not settle. She however wrote on the result print that it was a technically difficult scan, because the baby was active all the time. I feel it moving at least 5times a day. early morning before i wake up, midmorning after breakfast, lunch time, dinner time and as soon as i laydown to sleep. But on saturday I was very concerned because my baby did not move as much and the movements were weak all day.
Cheryl- I eat rich tea biscuits. I have tried to stay away from chocolate and caffeine as much as i can. How are you doing. It will be interesting to note which foods babies respond to. I have noticed that if I eat hot jacket potato with cheese, my baby goes crazy, biscuits and a hot drink.I will keep posting to you as I discover more. My neighbour who gave birth 3 months ago told me she used to drink tea or coffee when ever she became concerned. My self I dont take caffeinated drinks so I havent tried that one.
Smita- I love painting I hope you will enjoy it. How are you.
Joy- One night I ended up in the A&E because of LLeg pain, it was difficult for me to move my leg or turn. It doesnt harm the baby though. As for the bump I certainly have days when I wake up and ask myself where it has gone. The worrying never stops.
K- Hope you are now enjoying your flexible working days. That was a lovely lession for hubbies I wish mine was there.
Sher8- Congratulations on your graduation to the 3rd tri. Hope to see you there soon.
Everyone else , Hope you are all doing fine. Olivia hope the almighty is looking after you.

Hi all - thanks for advice Esther on possible baby moving tips. Mine seems to have really quietened down which is scaring me. I'm seeing my doc this morning because I'm so concerned - I've tried a bottle of coke and some chocolate to see if I get any reaction but there's nothing moving. I hope its just altered position to a place where I can feel it less but hopefully doc will listen for heartbeat etc this morning. I do think we could all end up as nervous wrecks by end of pregnancy - no-one ever warns you of this level of worry do they? I'm goiing to Wales again today to see Nan so I probably won't post until tonight with what doc says so don't worry if you haven't heard anything from me for rest of day.
Love to all

Hope everything goes ok at the doctors.
I am sure it is nothing to worry about. I have been having the same thing, some days he goes crazy others I don't feel him at all.
Hi to everyone else. I am really enjoying my life of lesuire at the moment, the most stressful thing I have done this week has bidding on ebay!! Certainly nice to get away from work stress for a while
I have decided to take all my remaining annual leave together then start my maternity leave at 29 weeks. This means that I finish work just before christmas. Hopefully if my next scan is ok I will go back for just 4 weeks.
Sorry I'm going on a bit. Smita glad you enjoyed the painting.

You're not goiing on at all Olivia - great to hear you sounding so well and fantastic news on your leave - that sounds delicious to only have to do 4 more weeks to do. Great plan I think. We are getting closer - only 2 weeks apart now so it's very likely that we'll be labouring around same time. Did you get my earlier message re. antenatal? Are you doiing any classes?
My doc appointment was great - I burst into tears, he shoved a doppler on me quickly to put me out of my misery and said it was a lovely healthy heartbeat and nothing to worry about. I did feel a bit silly but he didn't mind at all. Doc said with the size of the baby at moment its easy for them to move to a place where we can't feel them at all even though I've felt it move loads in last couple of weeks. I'm goiing to try and stop freaking out now - there'll be enough of that to come later when I start worrying about labour!
Love to all,
Cheryl

I had another scan yesterday. the nuchal translucency looks great (and normal) and the babies are measuring about a week ahead of where i am on the calendar. they are fat and happy! and.....the doc thinks they are both boys.
Smita- At times when my baby is moving near my navel it feels a bit uncomfortable but as for the other kicks they dont hurt. You are right I hope this baby will rest when it comes out. I feel like iam carrying a girl as well because I have so much energy. I already have names, a boy's and a girl's.
I like painting landscapes and vegetation, I just like mixing the colours.
Cheryl- I heard that when the baby is facing your back you cant really feel its kicks, probably thats whats happening with your baby. Its nice you got it confirmed. How is your Nan doing .
Olivia - nice to know you are happy. You are so lucky starting your martenity leave at 29 wks. Enjoy.
KC-TTC- Congrats on those nuchals. You must be so happy. Congrats on two big boys as well.
Everyone else hope being quiet means you are ok.
