Just getting started...

Post by Peppie »

Hi,

My name is Peppie. DH and I are trying IVF for the first time next month. We've been married for 15yrs and been trying for the last 10. Being in the military has made it difficult. After 6 tries with Clomid, we were referred to a Fertility clinic in Erlangen, Germany. I will be seeing the Dr. on day 20th of my cycle. Can anyone give me any tips on what to expect over the next several weeks?

Hi Peppie and welcome to the site.

Like Xristina says it is a wonderful place.

There are lots of ladies here who share their stories and advise. You may like to join us on the general forum. Just choose a thread that interests you and post your message or query.

Answering your question is difficult as you haven't said which type of fertility treatment you will be undergoing. But whatever happens we are here for you, sending lots of positive vibes to help you through.

Hope the future brings all your heart desires.

Best of luck

Peppie,
Welcome on here!!
Its lovely that you're going to be cycling and getting your dreams to come true!!
If you're seeing your doc on day 20, you shd be advised tests for progesterone and perhaps fsh,lh levels before day 22- and then repeat tests on day 2/3 of your upcoming cycle..If they do test you, then they may start you on some medicines to regulate your ovulation, so they can time your IVF, depending on test results....Or if they dont test you. they may go ahead with meds/injections anyway, to prep you for ovulation in the upcoming cycle depending on results of earlier blood tests..
No clue if thats what WILL be done- hope this helps..
Tips? maybe quit smoking, drinking too much if you're a smoker,drinker..

Like anna, xristina have said,
join the general forum and share all your feelings!!
Good Luck only.

Hi Peppie,
Welcome.
I started the injections for my first cycle of IVF on Tuesday after 2 failed clomide attempts and a failed IUI. My advice to you is to try not to get stressed over anything- often easier said than done (believe me) and to ask as many questions as you can about the process if order to get the facts straight- it really does save alot of worrying.
The journey is like a roller coaster with ups and downs but this is underpinned with a sense of exhilaration and hope that you are getting closer to the desired outcome!!!
Wishing you all the very best,
Molly
