Hello Girls

Had appointment with the clinic this afternoon and the did my down reg scan my overys are inactive and my lining is thin so I can move on to the stage she showed me how to do the injections and I had my first one done by the nurse which I have to say was'nt bad at all but no matter which nurse or doctor I see they all say now remember is is slightly unlikly that I will get pregnant with my raised FSH I am 27 years old and my FSH level is 12.4 so she said I am nearing an early menopause which was a bit upsetting to say the least thats why I ahve to have 4 sniffs of Buserelin a day and 6 ampules of Menopur a day it will proberly take me a hour to administer all the ampules I have to mix for the injection she even expects that I will have to have the injections over 12 days instead of 10 nevermind aye I just hope my overys prove them wrong and they work well with the drugs in 10 days so I can have the HSG injection we'll see is there any one else on such high drugs like me.

Thanks Debs
hey Debs, try not to be too downhearted - it's amazing what they can do with your bits & pieces and most pregnancies anyway have an element of sheer chance about them! Just keep pushing on, taking those drugs (the mixing's awful isnt it??!), and there's every chance things will fall into place for you. Keep thinking positive and you'll get as much support as possible from everyone here.

Lots of Love, Jo. XXXXXXXXX
Hi Debs

I just wanted to say try and keep positive about it all. What your nurse said is really only her opinion and know one knows how your body is going to react.
Even is your FSH is raised it is not terribly, terribly high and you are lucky because you are young.
When I had my first go they told me not to expect many eggs as I had a FSH of 9.5. However, although I have n't managed to get preganat yet I have always had plenty of eggs and good embryos too. It seems I now have as good a chance as anyone else.
Keep positive though, and let's hope you prove them wrong as lots of women on here continue to do all the time.
Best of luck to you. Grace.
hi debs
i really hope this posting is going to put your mind at rest. i have just had my second ivf treatment on my irst treatment my fsh was 11.4 and i only got 3 eggs i was injecting 3 amps of menapur a day only one of my eggs fertilized and i got a negative result, this time round my fsh level was 12.4 so they upped the menapur too 4amps a day iwas injecting for about 14 days a little longer than normal i think but anyway i got 11 follies and 14 eggs 6 fertilized and they put 2 good embies back and i am now currently 14 weeks and 1 day pg.
so try not to worry to much about your fsh levels the body can be a very strange thing and can even confuse the consultants at times.
hope this helps you abit.
wishing you all the best with your treatment keep us updated.
love aileen
Debs

Like Aileen said FSH levels are only an indicator and not the be all and end all and they vary so much - depends when they are taken. There is still mixed opinion if they relate to the current state of the ovary or last months levels. Like Aileen said it only takes one so think positive and chin up - we are all here for you.
Lots of Love
Tracey
xxx

Hello Girls

Thankyou so much for all your supportive replys I can't tell you how that makes me feel even if this treatment does'nt work it's nice to get a bit of positive feedback from somewhere I really appreciate amongst all the sniffs and injections and embarresing scans and been told because your FSH level is 12.4 that I am going towards an early menopause that we all have each other to come back to in the evening for a bit of a natter and pick me up because we are trully the only people that know what we are going through on a deep level well I have 9 days to go to the next nervous stage of the scan to see if my overys are responding or not I wish us all the luck in the world and hope all our dreams come true so Thank you all again Love Debs xxx

Hi Debs

Like you I am worried about FSH levels. Mine have ranged from 20 to 9 and I am due to start first IVF cycle next month. I was heartened by Aileen's post above....us high FSH girls can do it too!! I am going to copy and paste her story and print it off...a bit of moral support in my pocket when I go to the hospital next week!!!!

Good luck
Helen
Hi Girls

Hello Traci thanks for the support I am feeling alot better now thanks to all you girls nice to know there are so many of us to go through the treatment together hi Helen GB this FSH bussiness is quite daunting is'nt it, a nurse at my clinnic said even if I had another FSH test and it was lower the fact that I had, had a high FSH level once in my cycle that, that one would always count which is weired but like she said after, "you never really know untill you have tried" so thats what I will be hanging on to, is your clinic putting you on a very high dose of drugs as well and what clinic are you attending. Bye for now.
Hi Debs,

Don't know much about FSH levels etc, but all I'd say is never give up hope. You've as much chance as anyone else and don't be down heartened by what people say. I think the clinic should be supporting you instead of saying that you've little chance.

Keep trying,

Lots of luck & love

Heather b.
Hi there Debs

I was told that too...about the FSH level that they use being the highest one you have ever had....but in my case my very high result of 20 came after 3 cycles on Clomid and the sudden loss of my Dad in an accident and various invasive procedures that left my insides feeling very sore so my specialist is prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt and allow for the fact that nothing else was normal in my life at that moment and I was extremely stressed. So, onwards we go.

I am at Queen Mary's Roehampton, although ET will be done at the Bridge Centre in London. I have my first appt with IVF coordinator/doctor and nurse on Monday to discuss start date and dosage etc so at the moment I'm none the wiser as to what eactly they will do ......I shall let you know after Monday.

Take care and have a good weekend all,

Helen

PS. When I tried to get onto the site this morning I just kept getting this wierd page come up.....did that happen to anyone else?
