Anatasia,
As of tomorrow, I'm 14 weeks pregnant! I had a great nuchal fold/nasal bone scan - along with the finger prick blood test. All that showed I have the same risk as a 20 year old for having a downs baby. Not bad for a 36 year old!
I'm now with a "regular" ob and she says everything looks right on track.
Sometimes I wonder if my HcG levels didn't quite double was because they put 2 fertilized eggs back in, but I'm only pregnant with one baby. I wonder if the week they were doing the testing, the one egg wasn't surviving. Just a theory, no facts to back it up.
That is great news. Congrats. My numbers were -251 then 48 hours later 379 (poor) and then 48 hours later 900-something (cannot recall but more than doubled). I am 7 weeks and 3 days. Tomorrow I have a scan to see how it all looks. I too had two implanted and am pregnant only with one. I wondered the same thing as you!! Your news is very reassuring. Thank you
Just realized you have PCOS as well from another post, so feeling like you may be very similar to me. Question-did you take Metformin at all and, if so, did you get off when pregnant or are you still on?
Anastasia-
I was on gloucofage (spelling?), if I recall, I went off it when I had the first scan.
How do you take Metaform? Is it a pill like gloucofage?
I think Metformin and Glucophage are very similar, help with insulin resistance for women with PCOS. Yes, I took in pill form. 2 pills twice daily. I took until the BFP. I have read article upon article that doctors recommend staying on it through the first trimester (at least) to reduce the high risk of PCOS women having miscarriages during that period. I am trying to eat better to keep insulin down naturally, but was just curious if others had been taken off and still fared ok. All the studies seem to suggest the other way.
Hi
I've just come over from the 'other side'. I've just had it confirmed that the IVF worked and I AM pregnant, but only 'just' as my HCG levels are really low - only 32. I am soooo worried. I'm going back on Friday, 72 hours after the first blood test to see if my levels have risen. It is reassuring to hear that other have gone through similar things. However, I rather stupidly did another HPT and this one was negative, whereas I had a very very faint positive before. I think it's failing. I'm so gutted.
PMA required I think
