Hi everyone.

Glad to here things are moving on for everyone. It's the waiting that's the hardest thing isn't it? But each day that goes by that we've survived without going nuts is an achievement in itself I reckon! It's 4 days since I last wrote and since my ET. So 4 days for the embies to get bedded in. I keep imagining what they'd be looking like now (128 cells!!). I'm also looking for any sign that it's worked - am wishing for sore boobs!

I'm currently thinking about the big test. Need some advice.... Although we could go into the clinic for a blood test, they are more than happy for us to do a home preg test. I just don't know what to do. I really want to be with my husband when we get the results and want to be at home. I don't want to have to phone up a clinic whilst I'm at work, as I know I'll collapse in a heap if it's negative. I just don't know what to do? However, the clinic will give me a definitive answer I guess... Hmmmm

Best wishes to everyone.

Bec

P.s. Molly B - 27 eggs is fantastic! Hope you're not too bloated - lots of water and milk and chocolate.

Hi Bec,
I can understand how you are feeling- quite a dilemma. I would do the urine test yourself at home because at least then your husband will be there and you can see the results together. Then (fingers crossed) you can have it confirmed with a blood test at the clinic. That's what we are planning to do.
I don't think there would be anything worse than receiving a telephone call at work.
I have my ET on Monday. The embryologist telephoned this morning and we have 19 fertilised. My husband is ectastic- I am trying to remain grounded- still a long way to go.
Anyway, try to have a good weekend- I am sure we'll chat again soon as we go through this journey together.
Wishing you all the best,
Molly B
PS- I still feel incredibly bloated- thought this feeling would be gone by now. Will try the chocolate as a remedy!

Hi to everyone. Fantastic job on egg retrieval and fertilization Molly. You must have lost a pound after retrieval of that many eggs!! Good luck on Monday. Jeni, your eggs sound quite lovely. I'm sending you good implantaion vibes. Kagome, Good luck on your scan. I was very nervous for my last scan. They had found a cyst on my right ovary after my AF finally arrived and I was possibly not going to be able to do IVF this December. I was elated after my last US went so well on Tuesday last week. Cyst is gone and I'm full of preamptral follicles. now I'm finally on my way. Was so excited I couldn't sleep that night. Hope yours goes as well.

I was curious what your doctors recommend for implantation days. I've heard different areas of thought regarding strict bed rest etc. Not that I'm complaining being told to lie on my back for three days.

Hi, this is my first time to post on this forum. My dh and I are both 32 and I have endo, a fibroid tumor, cyst and low progestron level. I had a lap done in Aug and this is where we are now. This is my second IVF cycle. Last cycle was cancelled because of cyst and high estrogen levels. We are doing the antagonist protocol. I just began 225 units of Gonal F friday and I am already feeling bloated. Is this normal? I had my baseline US and bloodwork last week we have 26 follicles and all looked great so we are keeping our fingers crossed that this time all goes well and we will be able to get to ER. My re said we will have the ER the week of Dec 5. Are there any other Dec 5 IVF ladies out there. If any of you have already been through this step please give your advice.

Kagome good Luck. x x

With icis, do they inject each and every egg collected? So is chances higher than standard ivf?
Just asking as i think this may be our next route. xx

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend.

AF arrived last Thursday, although v. v. v light. Blood test tom. to see if I have downregged then I will know when I can start the gonal-f. On my calculations from last time I think my first scan will be 9th dec. with collection I think on the 16th December. Who knows though! I should stop surmising and get the blood test over tom and see if I am all go for the gonal!

I hope you are all well. I will have a read up and catch up.

Welcome rach. 26 follies way to go!

Kagome way to go fingers crossed for the 5th!

Nicki - i think they inject all the eggs - its my first time for icsi.

hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend.

great news on AF jag:!: riverdance must have worked!! best of luck tomorrow. hope you get the ok to start on the delightful gonal f.

kagome, glad to hear everything's going well. good luck on wednesday.

rach, welcome! what's the antagonist protocol? 26 follies is fantastic but i'm a bit confused :? :?: did you already have 26 follies before starting gonal f on friday?? or did you start stimming 2 fridays ago?

daly, great news that cyst has gone. good luck with your tmt.

molly, good luck today with ET.

bec, don't you want to be with your DH when you get the result? you've been through so much together and he'll probably want to be with you to celebrate the good news.
you could either do the hpt together or else maybe leave work early, as nicki suggests, and go/call the clinic together. i definitely agree with molly, i think a call at work is really the last thing needed in a very stressful and emotional process. you'd need to have nerves of steel.
good luck, i hope it all works out.

take care everyone

Hi to everyone,

Welcome Rach. Yes, horrid bloating is so common. I usually need elastic waist band when on a stim cycle.

Molly - good luck transferring!! Are you on strict bed rest?

Kagome - what is EC? I still don't know my shorthand yet.

Nicki - If you need ICSI, they do every egg. Chances of successful fertilization is increased. There is always some risk when placing extra punctures in eggs. However, if sperm don't fertilize well independently or if there are fewer embies, they sometimes do ICSI to increase odds. I don't stim well, but my dh sperm fertilize well. So for my cycle, we will ICSI if I dont' get many embies to increase odds they will all be fertilized, even though there is VERY slight risk of embie damage from ICSI. Getting them fertilized is first priority.

Jag - I think we have very close cycles. I'm likely having ER around Dec 12. AF is due today and stimming starts Friday w/ Follistim (I think). I usually get a dismal AF that lasts barely a day - so my cycle starts w/ or w/o AF. I think I down regulate to much, so they have my off all meds for 4 days of "AF" and then I start stim.

Has anyone noticed how many blissful pregnant woman are around lately? Yes, I wish them well, but there are just so many!! :?

Oh yes daly there are always pregant people around!!! It can be v. frustrating! I have avoided a pregnant friend at DH work until just recently.

Ages ago we all went to a party (I had just started my first IVF cycle and was on day 2 of lucrin). Said friend was there p'd out of her brain and could hardly talk (I was sober as a judge). She asked me if I was going to have kids I fobbed her off and said that we would see what happens. She said that she wanted kids and DH was now kind of ok with the idea and didn't run a mile if she mentioned kids. So obviously she got pregnant first time. By the sounds of it they weren't even trying. What upset me even more was when I found out when her due date was, I tortored my feelings of my then failed ivf cycle and checked on the internet to see when she would have conceived. Aarrrrrrrghhhh! it would have been the night she was p'd out of her brain - God I felt angry especially as I had been doing all the right things, not drinking, eating well etc. Life is cruel. I saw her the other day and she said she is feeling the healthiest she has ever felt in her entire life and hasn't had any morning sickness.

We can and we can't feel envious of these people. Our time will come and we will be sharing in the same feelings too. Its just hasn't been our time so far.

JAG xx
