Hi everyone,

I posted an introduction a couple of weeks ago, thank you all for replies.

I have been for initial tests at KCH and go back to see cons. on 12th May. DH has been asked to provide another sample, first one with GP was fine, am now worried that there is a problem!

On the subject of DH's samples how do you all feel about that? I must admit it was one of the most difficult things that I have faced so far was watching him go off with the JAR! i felt that it all seemed wrong somehow, will I get over this feeling? Has anyone else felt like this?

I am 38 and have 2 kids from my first marriage. Have been trying to add to the family with DH for 16 months, investigations up til now have shown unexplained infertility. Advised to go down IVF route and we will find out on 12th May if we can cycle Aug / Sep.

My local hospital recommended Lap & Dye after an inconclusive HYCOSY. They have cancelled this twice (no beds!) and this is further adding to the stress levels!

Think I will feel better after the 12th when we have a plan in place for IUI/IVF/ICSI?

Would love to hear from anyone, especially if any of you have any experience (ggod or bad) of KCH.

Take care all of you, enjoy the bank holiday

Lorraine
Hi Lorraine

Yep, Im at KCH! Had EC yesterday and ET will be on Monday morning. I have found them to be wonderful. My DH had to do the sample many times (as will your DH) over the process. Don't worry about it. Its a means to an end and most of us would go to huge extremes to give us what we want so much. We've had ICSI (this is our first attempt). EC was fine - bit tender today, but other than that, fine.

Take each day as it comes. Some days you will be crappy, really down and sad, but other times, you really believe in yourself and that it could work.

I think the investigations part of the process is the worst, because it takes so long, but once you get the go-ahead, time flies and before you know it...

I wish you so much luck. Try to relax as much as you can and support eachother, that's the most important thing. Its so easy to let it all get to you and have an effect on your relationship - don't let it!!!

LOL

Rachel
xxxx
Hi Lorraine!

We had ICSI treatment at King's College nearly 2 years ago. We'd had years of miserable investigations (and what seemed like millions of DH's samples) at our local NHS hospital so it was a real relief to get to King's College. The staff were all fantastic and helped to make it a really relaxing (yes, really) process. In fact when I 'phoned to say I'd done a positive pregnancy test, I could hear my nurse jumping up and down with excitement! We now have 13 month old twins so it was a VERY positive experience!

We're just debating now when to go to them again. We promised ourself 1 more attempt but we're planning to leave the area. I think we won't move until we've been for our 2nd lot of treatment with them - that's how much I think of them.

All the best to you and DH.

Jules

Hi Rachel and Jules

Thank you so much for your replies, it has really given me a boost to hear that you both have good things to say about Kings.

I am really looking forward to going in on the 12th May, I just want to go for it now!

Hope that things go well for you today Rachel, I will be thinking of you and looking out for your next posting,

Jules, good luck with whatever you decide to do, go back to Kings or to seek a new experience elswhere when you move!

Have a good week both of you

Lorraine X
Hi, I found the building is very new. Could you comment on the ANC care in this hospital? In general, I think it is rated as “three stars” in NHS’ performance league table in 20/21? But would like to know about its child birth and child care, especially for twins/multiples?
Hi Lorraine,

I am not at KCH, but like you am going for my first appt at my clinic on the 12th...Queen Mary's Roehampton. I also have a son from a previous marriage and have been trying for 3 years to have a child with my new DH.

Good luck for Monday Lorraine - we shall have to compare notes!

Helen
