Too few eggs

Post by kervin »

just had a scan and only have three eggs, been advised to abandon this treatment and try again in Feb. I was taking 5 menopur powders with 1 water and they are going to increase this to 7 powders-1 water.
Anyone had any similar problems?? :( Jane

Kervin, sorry I never had that problem, but wanted to say sorry to hear about your news. Nothing worse that abandoning a cycle that you had your heart and soul wrapped into. Hopefully the time will fly for you and February will be here.

sorry to hear your news, but it does happen a lot.
I had no follies and therefore no eggs at last cycle....on ivf number 2 it went up to 5. so this time i managed egg collection and embryo transfer...

It takes a while for the docs to get the dose right...next time they will get it right and you'll be okay...Honest...

take care
and keep your Spirit up.

Hi, yes i had my first cycle cancelled as 3 powders just didnt do enough. The next 2 cycles I was on 6 powders and an extra week of drugs to get my follies going well enough for EC.

Hang in there, it is really frustrating but hopefully they can keep upping the drugs to get it right in the end.

So sorry to hear about your disappointment. I have not stimmed well in past either. My RE thinks it's due to poor egg quality. My current cycle will be using the max amount of Follistim to get things going and minimal down-regging.

Your next cycle is bound to go better. THis is my third stim cycle and I think we've got it right this time.

Hi Kervin,

Sorry to hear they are cancelling your cycle. My first cycle I only produced 3 follicles and they proceeded.

I'm surprised to hear though that you were mixing 5 powders to 1 water. My last cycle they increased my drugs and I had to mix 5 powders to 2 waters: 3 with water & 2 with water - this meant 2 injections each night though. Each clinic must have different protocols. :?

February will be here before you know it so try to stay positive.

Best wishes, Pauline x

Hi Kervin so sorry that your cycle has been cancelled. It's absolutely gutting I know.

I didn't respond to stimming either. I was taking 4 powders to 1 water for 8 days and then 6 powders (x3 each water, 2 injections) for a further 5 days. Still no response, so cycle abandoned.

Reading other posts I have learned that this is not uncommon. It can take a while to get the doses right...so hang in there. May be you will be advised to go with a short protocol?

See you in Feb!

PMA to you in buckets
Bye for now
