hi - i had my et on saturday, with my test scheduled for december 8.

everything was looking great until the actual transfer day, when our embryos didn't look so great. not terrible, just not optimal and now i'm way down in the dumps because i know our chances have gone down significantly. yes, there's still a chance but not a great one and it's hard not to feel totally awful instead of "cautiously optimistic".

we had a 6 cell and a 5 cell, both of decent quality, and they told us they like 8 or more. this is also our second child that we are trying to conceive through ivf. our daughter worked on the first try (after 11 iuis), and was a 9 cell embryo - so the comparison is making me feel even worse. i am very glad for what i have, but was so incredibly excited until saturday. everything was almost exactly the same as it was last time up to that point so naturally i jumped to the conclusion that it would work again.

i hope everyone else is feeling more hopeful than i am. sorry for the downer.

Don't give up Gel - you just never know when things are going to work it, it can be when you least expect it. Try and keep positive, no point worrying about it not working before you know for sure, as that negative energy's not good. Feel very silly writing this as I'm worrying like hell at the moment too.... but you know what I mean!
Good luck, you know it's worked once before, it CAN happen again!
Roll on test date!

 Hi girls,
Just wanted to wish everyone on the 2ww wait from hell all the best.

We will stick this out together and hopefully have a line of smiley faces by the end of Dec.

Karen - looks like me and you will be nervous wrecks on the 11th together. Good luck.

Baby dust showers to you all.

Checking in . . .

Post by suzyq246 »

Just checking in to see how everyone's doing.

I got a call today from the Dr.'s office and they told me that 3 of the embies were able to be frozen (9 retrieved: 4 transferred, 3 frozen, 2 didn't make it). The nurse seemed very excited, so I guess that's a good sign. I just don't want to think about having to use the frosties - I want this cycle to work, darnitt! I'll know a week from tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm bloated and grumpy . . . I AM thankful I've gotten this far, but anyone else having a tough time feeling positive :?:

suzyq246 - It is hard to stay positive. With all the emotions running aroun inside it is really hard not to worry about everything that is different to what we're expecting - even when good! Do try though, it really is worth it
