Hi Alison

Nice to see a familiar face on the boards cycling again. Good luck for downregging next week. Over the phone my clinic said I could start downregging next month ready for January but as we are going to Ireland to spend Christmas with my family I decided not to - don't want to have any hormonal mood swings as it has been 9 years since I was home for Christmas.

Take care.

Hey!

Just wanna say welcome to our new buddy, Alison!

The waiting is driving me nuts...8 months since last attempt :? !

Doesnt seem real for the moment. first appointment at the clinic the 15th of December , to discuss the protocol (had a short protocol last time, no downregging, just 10 days of stimulation.)
And then, paraying for this new year to be the best ever!!

Take care

Hey souris,

Great job with stopping smoking!! I'm on a roll now too!! :D
You are right... its not that hard. We just need to stay in the right frame of mind. I used to get mad at myself for cheating and having one because I didnt even enjoy it like I thought I would.

Wow.. not long till the 15th of Dec. I will get AF on the 22nd. So I only have 22 days until I start. I called the DR today and they told me that all my blood work from last time was great!!
FSH- 4.7
Thyroid 1.7
3t3 was 1.29

So of course it feels like these next 22 days will be a life time!!

Good luck and I hope the days pass quickly for us.

mood swings on bcp

Post by jeck »

Hello everyone!
I am suppose to start a 2 cycle protocal on my next cycle. I had to get the MMR vaccine updated so they went on and put me on birth control. I am on my 2nd week of the bcp and I have been emotional rollercoaster to say the least!!! Has anyone experienced this?? If I am emotional wreak just on bcp then how am I going to survive the lupron and the stimms???

Thanks
Jeck

Jeck,

Welcome to the site :D Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster. Your body will be full of powerful medication and the BCP is just the beginning. But stay positive as this is a sign that it is working in your body.

Look at the bright side ... there will be a beautiful gift when we get off this foller coaster :D

This can be a stressful but very exciting time for you.

Good luck to you and Mega baby dust!!

Hi Jeck welcome!

Jackie has said it all, IVF is an emotional rollercoaster!!
I find the waiting being the worse... cant wait to get those injections and being bloated!!!

Jackie, I am the same, i cheated few times by having a few "puff" from DH ciggie, and I did not like it!! (sorry, not sure that puff is an english word, but I dont know how else to say! )

Try to keep yourself busy, time will go quicker!

Take care

Welcome Jeck. I'm new to this board as well and have found it so helpful - especially when I'm feeling down. You can be reassured that all the emotions you're feeling are perfectly normal. We all react and cope in different ways.

I agree with Souris - this waiting around is the worst. I have a much more positive spirit when I'm injecting and sniffing away! But with Christmas round the corner hopefully the time will fly by and we'll be able to start before we know it.

I had a cancelled IVF end of Nov and next appt is on 15/12. I'm praying my Dr will let me start again soon. Could anyone tell me how long typically the breaks are between IVF cycles?

Hey Girls,

Now too much longer for us now - the new years getting closer!!!

Hope everyone is ok - not stressing too much.

I had a letter from my clinic today, saying that they are definately accepting us as an egg share donor! It was pretty much a formality anyways, but it's nice to know for certain. Only thing is, our donor sperm is still in quarentine, and it's touch and go wether or not it'll be ready to use for our cycle. It's the same donor that we've always used, so any child we have would be a full biological sibling for Brennan, so now we're in a bit of a quandry as to go ahead with tx and hope it's ready or postpone treatment untill we know we can definately use it! What to do???
Can't wait to start tx, but am a tad confused as to what to do for the best.

Anyways, i'm sure we'll discuss it at the clinic on the 6th!!!

Love to all xxx

Hi Heather!

Well I am not really helping here! sorry!

not long before the appointment!

Take care

Hi Everyone

Souris & JackieG - well done on the no-smoking. If only I could do the same with chocolate

Souris, I was born in New York, grew up in Sligo, Ireland and have been living in England now for about 16 years. Where are you from?

Jeck, welcome to the roller-coaster ride - the emotions & bloating are all part of the process, try not to get too stressed over it.

Em, not long now until your doctors appt. Hope you don't have to wait too long before you can cycle again.

Heather, looks like we both have clinic appts on the 6th Dec so not far away now. You are a brave & generous person to be an egg donor, at this stage I don't think I could do that. Can I ask why your donor sperm is in quarantine, especially as you've used him before? I hope it all works out. Will you find out on the 6th whether or not you can use the donor sperm? Sorry if I'm asking too much, just curious.

Hope everyone else is ok. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi Pauline,

Ask away hun - no problem! :D Our donor stopped donating for a while, so when he decided to re-start donating, he had to have all the bloods done agin, including the HIV wich they have to test twice for with a 6 month gap inbetween tests. Hopefully they will tell us on the 6th, although what they have already said is that quarentine is due to end sometime in mid february...so thinking about it...perhap by the time i've gone on the pill for a month to regulate with the recipient, and then down - reg for a while, prior to stimming and then tx itself, it might actually be ready??? Shall hafta ask them.

Hope everyone is ok - love to all
