33 follicles..14 eggs and 11 fetilised..phew!!!!!!!!!

Post by ebony3 »

Hello there
Just wanted to share some good news really and get some advice. Things seem to be going well at the moment. I had EC yesterday and was phoned today to say that 11 had fertilised. We are due to go for ET on monday. i am feeling a bit tender around the stomach area and i am feeling like i need to have a number 2 but it doesn't seem to be working as yet. I'm drinking loads of water and i am constantly going to the loo. I feel exhausted but was wondering whether anyone else felt like this after EC and how long it took to have a number 2.
I started my pessaries last night and DH said that he is going to get me some prune juice arghhhh...to try and east things along. I'm not sure whether this is a good idea though.
I would appreciate any thoughts to stop me thinking thinking that it's OHSS, especially as the clinic isn't open until monday.
Good luck guys and dolls and i'll let you know how it goes on Monday! xxxx

Hi Ebony!

What a great news, 11 fertilised!!

I think it is normal for your tommy to be tender (especially that they retrieve a lot of follies...)

You are doing well by drinking a lot of water...
I also was constipated after EC, but went for number 2 before ET (sorry for TMI!!). I think if you still havnt been by Monday, the clinic will give you something to help.

But i am sure you will be ok by tomorrow, drink loads, veg, and you shoud be alright!

Take care and good luck with ET!

Hi Ebony,

I agree with Souris. You had a lot of follies and will be sore, tender and swollen. As long as you keep drinking lots of water and can empty your bladder you will be fine. It took me about 4 days after EC until I didn't feel as sore, but it does go away. About #2, the progesterone slows down your system, but eventually it will happen. Make sure you get lots of fiber and water. I take Citrucel tablets several times a day and that helps me.

But, great news, 11 fertilized is excellent. You will be sure to get the best transferred back and the rest to be frozen for future.

Good luck,
Stephanie

I upped my fruit intake and managed to go before ET. I was worried about the prospect of having to do too much pushing after ET and dislodging my embryos so i was determined that i was going to go before ET! It does seem that some constipation after ET is normal though.

Congrats on so many embryos! You could start your own football team if you're..... er...."lucky!!"

I had 26 follies last cycle and 25 eggs taken, so was very sore. Personally I'd avoid the prune juice - it will happen naturally and I wouldn't try to take any type of laxative (even natural) to force things. The pessaries also don't help here. It took me a couple of days for the pain to subside (I went for acupuncture which helped) and the important think is to keep drinking water. As long as you can wee, that's the important thing.

I hope that you start feeling more comfortable soon.

You've had a wonderful harvest of eggs, now remember to get as much rest as you can and as Dancola says drink loads of mineral water to help.

Take care

AH THANKS...
I HAD ET YESTERDAY AND THEY TOLD US THAT THE TWO THAT THEY IMPLANTED WERE THE BEST ONES. GRADE 8 AND 10. WE WERE UNABLE TO HAVE THE REST FROZE AS THEY HAD BEGAN TO FRAGMENT. I AM STILL IN A BIT OF DISCOMFORT BUT NO WHERE AS BAD AS IT WAS THE OTHER DAY.I COULD BARELY WALK!!!
I AM PLANNING ON GOING BACK TO WORK TOMORROW. I AM TYRING TO HAVE A PMA BUT I AM SO AWARE OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN. I MUST SHAKE IT OFF.....I AM SOOOO SCARED OF BEING DISAPOINTED AND I RECKON THAT IF IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN...IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN.
I DID FIND THE ET A BIT UNCOMFORTABLE THOUGH...WHAT WITH THE FULL BLADDER, VERY VERY TENDER BELLY AND THE FIRM AS OPPOSED TO FILMSY PIPE BUT DH SAID THAT I WAS A LOT MORE RELAXED THAN HOW HE THOUGHT I WOULD BE.
WILL KNOW OUTCOME ON THE 16TH AND I AM JUST PRAYING AND TRYING TO CONCENTRATE ON XMAS NOW.
BEST OF LUCK AND SEASONS BLESSSINGS TO ALL YOU LADIES. XXXXX
