My ET went well. I have 2 Grade 1. 4 cell embbies. Taking it slow and resting a lot. I havent left the house yet and not doing very much. It's driving me crazy just staying home. But what ever it takes;). Right??

Hi all
Sorry I haven't written work has been flat out. This week has really been a S**t week. On Monday I had my first scan and I had 30 follicles on my right side and 25 on my left. My E2 level was 11000. I started to bloat over the weekend but by Monday I looked like a post-EC. Was really stressed as they lowered my does of Gonal F to 110 for this cycle but the pen would only do 112.5. I have overstimulated twice before but have always had a ET and have frozen all.
I have cut and pasted what I posted on another thread for today (weds)...
Had some bad news today. I had my blood and my E2 was over 21000. Due to the huge number of follices the nurse rang this afternoon to say the cycle was cancelled. We can't believe it.
I think we are in shock, although I am starting to feel really angry. I am not a angry person so this is a new feeling. Every other cycle has been followed by sad, depressed feelings. I am just really pi**ed. We both are.
We feel ripped off. We have been trying for three years. Three years. When is it going to happen??? What if it never does. We are not going to let it beat us.
Endo, PCOS, implantation problems, poor quality embryos.. bloody hell. People keep telling me I am young. Well that doesn't seem to make a goddam difference. I have also been told I have the insides of a 40 year old (no offence to the 40 year olds out there).
I keep being told that last night there was a report on Channel 7 a current affair about a 50year old lady who conceived on herbs after 12 unsuccessful IVF cycles. Why don't I try herbs they ask. Maybe that will work. Why don't we go on a holiday. Hey, what a great idea! Why don't we just adopt instead. The list goes on. People just don't understand. The only ones who understand are those who are going through it.
Stuff being good. Tonight I brought a bottle of wine, icecream, three blocks of chocolate and pizza. The acupuncturist would kill me. I don't really care at the moment.
We are really disappointed that we couldn't complete this cycle. This would have been transfer no. 8.... I guess we'll have to wait for the new year now.
Thanks for listening/reading... really appreciate it. It is hard going through this with noone except ourselves.

My heart goes out to you - as you say, what a s**t time you are having of it. Don't blame you at all for the wine and pizzas - it's the least you could do!
I'm afraid I'm talking from a very unknowledgable viewpoint, but shouldn't you be questioning your consultant if this is the 3rd time you have over-stimulated? Doesn't seem fair to me.
Will be praying for you both and hope next time round gives you the results you so badly want,

Naba - sorry to hear your news. Please take care of yourselves. I agree with Caroline,3 oversimulated cycles??? talk to your dr. Sorry to hear people are so insensitive. I understand completely that people just don't get IT. I really think they do not even know they are being hurtful just trying to help.

Sounds like you're going through the mill at the moment. Getting a second opinion or changing your clinic sounds like a good idea. I know what you mean about those Gonal F pens, I should only have been doing 100 but you can only do 112.5 - crazy!

Well happy news for me. AF arrived this morning. It was a long haul but it finally arrived. Now maybe I can start a cycle unless it is going to be over the holidays. I now have to call the dr office.

Well that was short lived. I just called my clinic and the answering machine stated that they are no longer accepting Day 1 calls due to the Christmas break. Boy this sucks, now I have to wait until my next AF. I hope the next AF does not take forever like this one did.

I'm really sorry to hear you've got to wait yet again. This whole thing's about waiting. At least we get to learn the art of being patient.
My mother once said to me (wise words) when that baby's born it won't matter to you whether it's born in May or born in December or you're 34 or 36. At the end of the day it won't matter. Easier said than done! I know every month that passes by feels like another month wasted. But hang on in there and have a relaxing Christmas ready before the next round.

pam, i'm so sorry . i know how disappointed you must be after waiting so long. the waiting just never finishes, does it? hopefully next time AF will make a more prompt appearance.
i don't think i'm going to make it either before christmas unless i get AF in the next 2 days so i guess we'll be jigging buddies again next month.
i'm sure that 2006 will bring better times.

Pam, SOOOOO Sorry!!! I know how hard it can be. Try to keep a PMA for your AF to come on time.
My test date is Dec 16 and the waiting is straining. I know I need to stay calm and rest but you can only rest for so long before you go crazy!!! Well DH has been very helpfull with cooking and cleaning. Even the inlaws are coming every morning and walking the dog. I'm truely lucky to have so much support. We are all keeping are fingers crossed that this time it will work.
Keeping everyone in my prayers.

Sorry I haven't been on for a few days, but have been ever so busy! Had a scan on Saturday, had EC on Monday (got 4 eggs) and got 2 grade 1 embies put back today. So there we go. I can't beleive that it's all over - no more jags, no more trips to the hospital, that's it. Now we're officially on the dreaded 2ww. Can someone please add me to the list? My test date is on the 22nd, but we won't know the result till the day after as it has to get posted to the hospital.

Naba, I tell myself that if this cycle doesn't work I'm going to make the most of it and go out often, get drunk, eat loads of crap and be bad. You should let your hair down over Christmas and New Year and go for it with new gusto after New Year. I would also be checking out other clinics and the possibility of other drugs? Well I just got a "average" rating from my ER on todays US. I'm on max meds and only have 4-5 follicles on one side and 6 on the other. Let's just say he wasn't exacting thrilled with this reponse. He thinks it's an indicator of poor egg quality. I'm trying to send my follicles positive vibes and hoping I get at least one good egg. (wouldn't mind 2 though) I think EC is early next week.
