Hi my name is Lorraine,
I am new to the site and was interested in finding a buddy for the 2ww!
I read your details on the "Roll Call" and you said you were hoping for EC Tuesday - me too! How are things going??

David (DH) and I have have been ttc for 7 years - had clomid x6 & IVF x2 all -ve and are now on our 3rd cycle - Egg collection is tomorrow. Not sure if it will be IVF or ICSI - depends upon count/motility on the day. DH has antibodies/reduced motility, I have PCOS. We also plan to have assisted hatch this time.

It would be so great to talk to someone who is cycling at the same times as me - whilst I hope I even get that far - I DREAD the 2 week wait. HELP!

Special thoughts to you for tomorrow.
Lorraine
xxx
Married to my darling husband for almost 8 years - ttc for same.
Me - severe PCOS & Hubby - low sperm/poor morphology/antibodies.

good luck lorraine - and sharon if you are having it tomorrow too!!!
let us know how you get on,
thinking of you and the delightful 2ww - ugh!
love fi
XX
Sorry Lorraine, just signed in and saw your message. We actually had EC today (wed) they left me for another day to see if some smaller follies would catch up. They managed to get 3 which was better than the two expected! However, they found that I have hyrosalpinx (just been looking into it on the web) and apparently it reduces my chances of pregnacy even further. If all 3 eggs become embryos they want to implant all 3 for higher chance!! Apparently if I'm not sucessful this time I'll have to have my tubes clipped before I can have another go!!! So a bit down (wish they had seen this on the first go as I'm a bit concerned this maybe a wasted go!!).

DH, bless him, couldn't "perform" so after 5 minutes he came out of the room and I snuck in to "give him a hand"!! Not much stimulation for the guys in that little room, especially at 7.45 in the morning!!!

Anyway, how did yours go? Hope you got lots of eggs? Was it IVF or ICSI in the end? I'll have ET on Friday afternoon, so fingers crossed for those 3 and for yours.

Let me know how you got on and we'll do the 2ww together.
(Anyone else want to join in?)
Love Sharon x

Hello Sharon.
I am so glad to hear from you - I must admit I was worrying about you (despite having never even chatted with you before!!! - hoping everthing was going ok for you. Congratulations on the eggs - let's hope they all become nice healthy embies!

I had my egg collection yesterday there were 7 eggs which is good, as each time before I have hyperstimulted getting more than 12 eggs.
It seems that egg collection was an eventful day for both of us - you with your new diagnosis and for me - my cons managed to "nick" one of the veins in my vaginal wall so I ended up bleeding, but things were ok enough to let me home last night. However - now I'm walking like an old lady and dreading embryo transfer - ouch!!!
I found out today that 3 have fertilised (IVF) - and I am pleased (I really am NOT that ungrateful) - but the past 2 cycles I have had 10 & 6 fertilise but on the day of embryo transfer only 1 and 2 were viable. So now I'm doing the maths and keep thinking "what will be left out of just 3"....but I AM grateful and hoping that quality reigns over quantity this time!! I am not moaning honest - just finding yet another thing to worry about!

Your poor DH - it must be so embarrassing for them - we worried about "stage fright" as at our clinic DH has to do the deed while I undergo EC - meaning he can't have "a hand" if a problem occurs - and he then can't be present during EC either. I must admit I really didn't like him not being with me - but apparently rules is rules!!!

Have you manage to find much information about hydrosalpinx, I have read that a number of the girls on this board have had tubal surgery or clipping - presumably for hydrosalpinges - I am sure thay can advise.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow - when you get your news on your embies.
God luck to you
With lots of love from
Lorraine (H) xxxxx

Hi Sharon (and Lorraine)
Sharon i was wondering how things were going for you, i hav`nt seen a post from you for ages. Glad it all went okay for you today with ec, but sorry about the hydrosalpinx (fingers crossed it`ll be fine).

Just wanted to wish you lots of luck.
I pick my drugs up next week and will start sniffing the following week.
Best wishes and luck.
kate
Hi Lorraine,

Looks like we are in a similar situation - 3 fertilising is good, after all you really only need the 1 or 2 (anymore's just a bonus), like you said it's quality that counts. I'm hoping for all 3 for the higher chance but again the maths seem to say it will be lower. Fingers crossed, it's all a game of odds.
Poor you, sounds like EC was a bit rough for you. I hope ET goes more smoothly.

DH was lucky I was around, as last time I was having EC at the time and he struggled then!! Poor guys they just have to do the one little thing and if they don't...so there is the pressure that gives them the "stage fright"!!!

I'm going to post to the girls to find out anyone who has experience of hydrosalpinx but from what I have read it reduces the pregnancy rates as the chances of the embryos attaching is low. Looks like it's best to have the tubes removed. But we will see, there's still a glimmer of hope....I'll probably end up with Triplets!!

I won't get news on the embryos until the morning of ET (Friday) and then we go up in the afternoon. I assume you are having ET tomorrow(thurs)? I Hope it goes brilliantly for you. Log in as soon as you can and update us. I'll be thinking of you.

KATE -
Nice to hear from you. Almost there for you too!!! Keep me posted.

Sharon
xx
