Quiet here..
Hope everyone is fine..Any news yet from Christine?

I have a check up on Friday when they'll do an internal check on how my cervix is again..Hopefully little one will hang in there until I'm 34 weeks at least, which is the bench march I've set for myself for having a safe delivery..
Starting to think about the birthing now.. getting a little worried about the healing process if they do a c-section.. wonder if it'll take long to get back to normal.
I'm wondering cause I just want to go back to Bahrain as soon as its possible to..
Oh well,
thinking too much in advance doesnt help  !

have a nice day all!

Hi everyone

Little P - Not long now then until you are 28 weeks!

Smita - Thank you for your kind comments. Im still a bit shocked how much they spent on me! It is lovely to know how much people care.
I hope everything goes ok for you on Friday. I can imagine its hard sometimes just resting. If you are anything like me, your imagination can run riot and you start worrying about everything!
Since I started maternity leave, Ive probably overdone things a bit! I was cleaning the kitchen cupboards yesterday! I know I need to start resting more, I forget sometimes that I cant do as much as I used to!

Hope everyone else is ok! Is anyone finding it more uncomfortable now even just trying to sit normally? Sometimes its more comfortable to stand up when she starts sticking limbs under my ribcage!

Take care everyone

Kim,
Your post sounds lovely..looks like your little one has turned and so is waiting to see you in the new year! :D
I'm not yet uncomfortable- I guess I have about a month to go for that.. just feel breathless thanks to the weight gain I think- keep telling myself I'll not eat candy or cakes and keep forgetting my resolution!
I guess I'm due for a telling off from the doctors on Friday :)

Hope everyone else is doing great!

Hi everyone

Hope you are all doing ok. Im a little bit down today. my checks with the midwife yesterday showed my blood pressure was up (Has been steadily rising, but getting 'borderline' now). I also had a trace of protein in my urine. Could all potentially be pointing towards the start of pre eclampsia.
I did have a different midwife yesterday (mines on holiday) and didnt feel overconfident with her. She has arranged for the weekend midwife to come out Saturday to check my BP and urine again. My midwife friend checked my notes yesterday and said she would have done the same. However she also said I could have got stressed waiting. (waiting for 3/4 hr to be seen with kids running screaming around the waiting room-so might not have helped!) Anyway, Im trying to rest and not worry now (easier said than done!). Having spoken to a few of my friends who have been pregnant, I think all of them said that they had protein in their urine at some point and high blood pressure! I think Im concerned about been forced to completely rest and not be able to get everything done before the baby comes. Thats stressing me out more!!
The baby's been more active today and yesterday. She seems to go through busy days and quiet days. Having another scan tommorrow. (was booked after my 20 wk scan to check my placenta, as she couldnt see it all at the time). Looking forward to seeing the baby again. Hope all is ok (scans make me nervous!) and will ask to double check the sex again!!
Sorry to go on a bit!

Smita - Hope all goes well tommorrow for you as well!

Take care everyone

Kim,
I hope saturday brings relaxing news for you,I can imagine the worry going thru your mind right now..
All I can say is you're almost there.. just hang on to that thought.

My update is that no scan, no internal, no nothing was done today- just had my weight and BPcheck, which was all ok and height of uterus measured, which they said was 30cm-as if I'd know what that meant.
They said not to worry and that things seemed fine on the whole.
So am just relaxing on that thought!Next check in 2 weeks

As christmas gets nearer, the only thing I can find joy in is that dh will be here 1st week of Jan- I hate to sound like scrooge, but I see everyone celebrating and preparing and I feel so lonely at times..
Then the thought that there are so many of us on these boards who're going thru so much pain and I should just shut up and stay put- atleast mom and dad are with me.
feel worse for dh, cause he's all alone.oh well, sorry for the moan, but I know you girls will understand!PLus it feels better just getting it off mychest.

have a GREAT weekend everyone! :D

Hi all

Just been for my scan. All appears ok. (Had its legs crossed, so couldnt check the sex again!). While I was waiting for my notes at the antenatal clinic I mentioned to the midwife I was been checked tommorrow for my BP, so she offered to do it then and there. Well, it was higher than it had been, so I ended up been connected to a monitor!
It all turned out ok, because the next few readings had really dropped and another urine sample showed clear. They decided I didnt need the midwife to visit tommorrow, so im going back to my normal midwife for another check on Wednesday. She was actually there as well! Shes on holiday this week, but there was some sort of staff do going on! She stopped dead when she saw me and said 'What are you doing here?!'
Anyway, Im much happier now. Got to rest on a comfy chair for an hour and DH got to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time! Can also have a lie in now tommorrow!

Smita - Glad to hear all is ok, although a bit annoying for you when you were expecting more checks. The measurements in cm normally match how many weeks you are. (Approx - I was spot on until 31 wks when I was 32cm and this last wk at 34 wks when I was 33.5cm. They are still happy measurements are fine though, so I think its approx).
Dont think you're moaning! you've been through a lot and spending Christmas away from your DH must be upsetting when you see everyone else together. Mind you, just think, when everyone else is feeling gloomy because Christmas is all over (and probably suffering from effects of it!), you will be getting all excited about the New year, seeing DH and also nearer to your little one's due date! Take care and enjoy your weekend!

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all keeping well!

Just Checking In On the Home Stretch

Post by T.J. »

Hello Everyone - I don't know if you remember me from back in May/June. I have been bad about getting on this board. The first 20 weeks I was sooo sick. Everything has been going smoothly since then - once the doctors got past the AMA (advanced medical age) factor. I'm so glad to see everyone that has made it this far. I am so glad that we live in the technology times that we do.

We are having a girl - due January 11, 2006. This pregnancy has been so different than the first time around - 8 years ago. But we're ready and big sister is getting excited (she is my other excuse for not getting on the boards).

Best wishes to all of you. I just wanted to peak in to see how everyone was doing.

LITTLE P - I'm so glad to see you here at the 3rd Trimester. I remember you offering me some good advice during the 2ww that gave me a sigh of relief. Congratulations!

TJ

Wow - it's good to see you back!!! I am so sorry that you've not had the easiest time of things, but pleased that you are now doing ok and things are looking good.

A little girl - that's fantastic, and by the sounds of things not long to go. I can't believe that you're due 11 January that's so near now isn't it.

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and look after yourself.

Big hugs

Little P :D

Thanks Smita

It's official - 28 weeks today :D

I've just been to see my Midwife to have my check up done - measurements, heartbeat, etc and she was very pleased. She said that everything was spot on so I am now very, very happy.

I am still in shock to think that I have now officially entered the final stage - I truly can't believe it, but am grateful and thankful every single day.

Just dropped DH off - he's going away for the night on a friend's works Christmas Do. Male bonding type of evening!!! I didn't need to ask too many questions to work out what that means

Hope everyone is doing ok and things are ticking along nicely for you all.

Big hugs ladies.

Little P

Hi Ladies!

Just wanted to pop in and share the news that we have a beautiful baby girl named Meagan Elizabeth born on Wed Dec 7, 2005 weighing in at 7 lbs and 14 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. We are all doing well and getting adjusted to the lack of sleep schedule. We feel truly blessed. My labor was pretty intense but fortunately I did not have to be induced. After only 40 minutes of pushing Meagan was born. It was truly an incredible experience that I have no hesitation to repeat again. Waiting to find out if it was a boy or girl was well worth it.

So thanks for your continued support over the past months. Take Care all!
