My last day at work is December 23 and I will not be returning due to the schedule being hectic and having to be available at different times. Not to mention my PITA bosses.

So with that being said. . .I am truly excited for my new life with baby to begin and also to have some "quiet" time before baby arrives.

My doctor ordered another ultrasound (kind of late) for this Friday. I was worried, but he said nothing to worry about. He wants to check fetal growth and amniotic fluid level. Of course I am worried because of the request, but I feel great and the baby is very active so I am also excited to see our baby again.

We did not find out the sex and we plan to try and keep it that way. The suspense is killing me. Pink or blue, pink or blue?? To think. . .it was my grand idea to make this a mystery.

Hope all are doing well and I will be back in for an update this Friday.

Welcome back TJ!!!

Good luck with the scan - I'm sure everything will be fine, but send loads of good wishes and PMA to you.

Hope you are all doing ok.

I'm feeling quite tired at the moment, but very excited

Hi all

Hope you are all doing ok - I've been finishing off the final bits of wrapping and now I seem to be all ready.

We've got our family traditional day at Harrods on Christmas Eve so no doubt I shall spend more money on DH and have a few extra pressies for under the tree - can't resist those last minute purchases!!!

How is the organising going with everyone - baby shopping is definitely very exciting when it's for your own baby isn't it?

Big hugs to you all

hi all,
a huge congratulations to christine - such lovely news!!

soeey to post so rarely these days. we have spent the last two weeks whizzing up the motorway between my parents' house in berkshire where we're staying and our new house near cambridge. life is busy trying to unpack boxes and get the house together before the baby arrives while still travelling back to berks every few days for my husbands' work. no more contractions thank goodness and all seems to be fine although i think this baby is keen to come out in the next few weeks! we have had a steady stream of deliveries with buggies, cots and car seats arriving and we are now fully equpped and ready to go. have just about worked out how to fold up the buggy at least! i had a scan at 33 weeks to check on the growth of the baby after the prem labour scare. all looked great. the baby was approx 4.5 lbs at that stage and they thought that by 39 weeks that would bring it to around 7lb 4oz which sounds just fine to me! such a reassurance though after all the worry. little thing is now very low down and head quite engaged. he/she wriggles around a lot still which is not very comfortable and quite bizarre as you see body parts appear and then disappear. there is also a lot of pressure low down from the baby's head which presses on nerves and is excrutiating! have had to miss quite a few nct classes due to moving around so still cant quite decide what i would like in an ideal birth. in fact, i havent even seen the inside of the hospital yet or had any antenatal checks with the cambs health people - hopefully we will do that post xmas!!

hope you are all feeling ok and not too exhausted. even if i dont get a chance to post i try to have a quick read to see that you're all doing ok. i admire so many of you for being able to be so organised at xmas as well as cope with final stages of pregnancy - it's beyond me! i hope people understand.

i am just about to head into london to spend the night with my sister and that will probably be my final trip in before the baby is born. really looking forward to her yummy chicken casserole and the final on Strictly Come Dancing!! have a lovely weekend all.

Minnow,

I am glad things are settling down for you and that your baby has decided to hang out a bit longer. :)

I had my 33 week ultrasound on Friday. It was a bit scary because I don't think they normally order a scan that late into pregnancy. Well, everything is right on and I was reassured that things are going smooth. The baby is in a good position - head down. And that explains why my ribs are always getting kicked.

Looks like we are all getting pretty close to our due dates now and what a wonderful New Year it will be.

That's brilliant - I'm so glad that the scan has given you the reassurance you need. It's amazing isn't it - with every new stage, there's a new worry!!!

Take care of yourself and have a fabulous Christmas and New Year.

Hi everyone

Sorry I havent posted for a while. I certainly arent getting bored while on maternity leave, I can tell you. Dont know how I fit work in actually!

Sher - Glad your scan went well. Its your last day at work tommorrow I believe? Enjoy your time preparing for your baby.

Little P - Hope you have a wonderful time on xmas eve going to Harrods. I bet it will be fantastic!

Minnow - Somehow I dont think our babies are going to arrive on the same day! I think you will beat me to it!! The midwife says mine is low down, but it isnt engaged yet. It sounds like you are prepared now anyway! Hope you had a good time in London.

Christine - I hope you have a wonderful xmas with your new little girl. Im sure it will be magical!

Gavin - Glad to hear you and Gen are doing well. Hope you enjoy the dancing!

Smita - Hope you are doing ok. Hope xmas isnt too hard for you without DH. Heres looking forward to the new year and discussing our new babies!

My due date is now scarily close! Finished our NCT classes on Tuesday. The next time we will all see each other will be our reunion in February with all the babies! At the moment im just finishing off little jobs in the house, while fitting in my yoga video, listening to my hypnotherapy CD in preparation for the birth(!), packing my hospital/labour bag etc etc.
I think we have just about got everything we need for the baby and nursery now. Just need to organise everything. Im actually looking forward to being bored for a while when everyting is organised! (Might also mean my blood pressure comes down a bit. Its still on the high side).

Take care everyone and Happy Christmas to you all.
Love kim
