I've read on this board advice from others is not to over-do it but do what feels right to you. if you hesitate before doing something then don't do it.
Hope this helps xxxxxxxx

Is bed rest complete bed rest? Ie do I have to stay in bed all the time lying down or can I sit up? Can I sit in front of the tv or in front of the computer? Fingers crossed I will be on my 2ww at the end of this week.
I look forward to receiving your advise.

My doctors desribed bedrest as laying or sitting up in bed. Having meals in bed and only getting up to use the restroom. They said to avoid going up and down stairs. I cheated as I don't have a TV in my bedroom and laid on our family room couch instead so I could watch TV - and not go crazy with boredom - couldn't concentrate enough to read! I believe they want your feet raised so unless you had a laptop that might be kind of hard. My DH brought me my meals. Did have to move once to go from couch to bedroom to sleep but made sure to walk "gently".
Hope that helps!

My specialist advises for the first few days after treatment take it easy but after that continuing on with life as normal except for heavy strenuous activities, light exercise is fine especially if your body is used to it and helps with implantation unless you are specifically advised not to by the doctor. So keep up the Yoga, walking etc but stay away from hard sprint type runs and power weight lifting etc...
hi.
I'm due for egg collection any time now. We live about an hour and a half away from the hospital. I no it sounds daft but im frightend, shoud they come out on that long journey home lol. well i know they cant come out but i should really let them settle in. im wondering should i get a hotel for a couple of nights. did anyone else do that?
I think im gonna put my feet up and take it easy. it can only do you more good than harm i think. i'll let hubby do the housework for a while.
Well good luck to everyone. and take it easy. hoping for a BFP, FINGERS CROSSED.XXX
Don't worry Langton - You're right, they can't be shaken out. St Mary's will have you up and off that trolley before you can get your knickers on properly. My car journey was over an hour too ... I think many of us travel a fair way. If it woudl make you feel any better, could you lay out in the back seat and rest on the way home ?
Good luck !!!!

Hi Guys,
Just reading through the thread, I saw that someone was advised no chocolate. Bugger do you know why this is, (other than I guess sugar highs can be too good for you) why chocolate specifically? Have given up the caffeine and alcohol but seeking stress solace in quite a lot of choccy

Thanks for the useful advice.
I had my first IVF embyro transfer 4 days ago and am waiting for the 2 weeks to pass. I am very concerned about how to make implantation easier for the embryo.
Can we presume that less body movement would make embryo implantation easier?
Can we presume that a laying down body position would increase the chance of implantation for the embryo?
Would anyone who have BFP or BFN please share their experience of thier exercise level or body movement level after embryo tranfer?
For instance, would you walk slowly or try to keep your body steady while you walk? Does that help?

Different Dr's have different opinion....Bed rest from my dr meant quiet activity.....This limited me to the computer, bed watching tv, sitting and painting....I had 4 days bedrest and I laid down for most of it....I avoided stairs - since there can be a higher risk of falling...
