hi ladies, hope everyone is OK today.

JackieT, goodness you have had a scary time. Hopefully you are now at home resting with those little embies snuggling in and holding on tight.Good luck on your 2ww.

Lara, thanks for your info on IVf vs ICSI. I will be asking about it at the appointment tomorrow.. All my tests so far have revealed nothing but unexplained infertility. My tubes are OK, I ovulate regularly and my FSH levels are fine. DH sperm all OK too. Watch this space! Hope your 2ww is flying by now. Not long to go.

Jen, have posted on another thread, but have fun planning your 'break'. Good to see you are positive and looking to the future.

Sending PMA to all you lovely ladies

Kat, thinking of you

Bye for now

hi ladies, glad to see the good news posted today.

Have been to see consultant and was as expected. We will be going for a short cycle protocol in January.
Need to wait for Af and have been given medication to bring it on if hasn't appeared by Xmas eve!
Any advice or shared experiences would be gratefully recieved!

Sorry to say I was a pathetic mess during the consultation, even after giving myself a pep talk before I went in AND I having my list of carefully prepared questions ready. But emotion took over and dh had to read my list and listen carefully while I sobbed into a thoughtfully provided tissue. What a wuss.

Anyway am ready to relax now (hopefully) and enjoy the xmas festivities

PMA to all
Bye for now

Anna
we have posted at the same time ....I have just posted on your own thread :? waiting to hear some news...
That is great that you will be going again in Jan.. what a good way to start the new year.

The short protocol is so easy...day 3 of AF start stimming ( i had gonal 350), then day 7-9 start certotide ( antagonist), then when follies are ready (day 13 and above )hcg and collection 36 hrs later. No headaches from down reg, it is so wonderful.
the docs told me to expect fewer follies than a typical down reg cycle...but i was in the same boat as you i had had none on the down reg cycle. This time i got 6 over 13 days stimming. I am so excited for you Image .......good luck

We will be with you every step of the way...holding your hand sweetheart.
For christmas i am sending you your own follie fairy to make sure these follies grow, grow, grow. Image She will be hovering around you until you are ready! ( watch you don't bang your head on her cause you will get covered in follie dust!)...

love and hugs to everyone

Hi Wise Womb women
how are you all doing today?

jackie T and Lara how's the 2ww doing? thinking of you and sending positive vibes. :)

To day i received an appoinment from the Clinic to review my last IVF cycle ( BFN on the 2nd Dec)..the date is ....27th Jan!!!! Just as well Df and i are not in a rush to review our tmt!!!! We have decided to wait 5 months until May to get over the last negative and just get off the IVF roller-coaster for a while. I don't know if it's advisable at this age and fertility?
I am hoping that 2 months more than the usual 3 months wait after tmt will not make too much a differance!

Kat- how are you coping sweetheart?

Hi anna, BFP Jules , Randa and everyone else

Hi ladies

Anna - my eyes filled with tears when I read you post, I know how you feel. You get all prepred and then once you are there you just feel overwhelmed and rushed Grrrr Good old list and good old dh, and good news on the short protocol :-)

Hi Jeni, sorry your appt is so far away, I'd go ballistic if I had to wait like that, but I guess I am just so lucky that the German health system is so good. Think of all the complex issues I managed to get tested and sorted in the 3 month wait post m/c. Sweetie, you know best what timing is best for you, but as a premature menopauser I'll just say never take your FSH for granted...once it starts to bugger around it can go downhill really fast (it gets sporadic and risks of bad eggs go up real fast) don't wnat to scare you just taht's what happened to me...

had a surprise scan today  just went for weekly beta hCG and thyroid tests and gynae got the ultrasound out! Well one little sweetie on board, looking good for "5 weeks". Nothing much but the sac to see at this stage, but it's a nice start, no sign of an ectopic at this stage...feel like I am sitting on a time bomb, but praying hard and trying to keep PMA..Just shows you - 4 put back one stuck, you never know do you? They said the chances of multiple are not really that high once 40+That's one of the big +ve's of Kiev. The illogical me wanted twins, but of course with my issues and fibroid etc a single pg pumping out loads of hCG is much much better and likely to work out, so really we are very happy. This time I am trying to enjoy each little milestone. I hope you don't mind me staying on this thread, I am just too scared to count myself as pg yet.

Hugs to all of you, and Jackie on your 2ww

Hi ladies, hope everyone is OK today

BigJ what great news. Hang on in there ! When is your next appointment?
Thanks for you message about emotions during appointments too. I feel so pathetic as I am absolutely fine before and after the consultation. Last night I went straight from hospital to a meeting with big wigs regarding a major building project. I was fine! Ah well, the joys of hormones

Jen how are you today? Knowing you probably planning a fab xmas and new year before the appointment in Jan. What do you think they will say. I know you've said you need to take a break, but what will you do then? IVF?Short cycle? Thanks for all your messages yesterday we seemed to be posting at the same time. I will cherish my follie fairy and make sure she has a good xmas ready for January!

Jackie, how are you today? Snuggled up warm? Hoping those embies are hanging on tight and getting comfy. When is your test date?

Lara, hope 2ww is flying by. Keep warm

Kat, still thinking of you x

Bye for now, hope to hear from you soon Randa,
PMA to all

Buenos tardes, my dear friends!

Si, I am back from Cuba (and my 3 week honeymoon). What adventures (some a little scary) and what a loving time we had. I think we reached a new level of bonding (and Lord knows we needed it). I honestly did not think about IVF once the whole time - can you believe it? It was nice to reconnect with the couple we were before all this started. (We've been together 5 years this month and this whole year has been about IVF.)

Anywho... I've just spent an hour reading up on everyone here. I've cried and laughed and learned (only this group can deliver all that in one sitting).

Kat - I'm sorry about your loss. What a horrible thing to go through. How are you today? Will you try again?

Jen - A %$*(#@! BFN! I'm sorry. I hope you find a way to relax between now and May, so you are in top shape for your next go.

Lara - I had the same experience on my 2nd go. Cancellations just suck! I am also 44 (as you know) and my next round after was fine.

BigJ - OH! BigJ!!!! I missed out on your 2ww and then your BFP and now you are having scans of the baby!!!!!! How wonderful to come home to this news! Girlfriend - you worked so damn hard for this - ENJOY!

Caroline - Congratulations on baby Ameila Leah!

Nicola - how was your FET?

Lisa - we will cycle together in January.

JackieT - Congrats on your successful transfer of 3 embies! Please forgive me if this is a dumb question, but I will be in your shoes (possibly) and need to know. If all 4 survived the thaw, and you transfered 3 back, what do they do with the 4th? (I am worried about thawing too many and wasting any if they all survive.)

Anna - I will be cycling with you also in January.

As for me, no honeymoon baby. I started right on schedule (which has some good to it as this means I'm still pretty regular - at my age that's a plus).

I started the downregging drugs (bp pills) yesterday. I will begin the stimms in early January with EC tentatively scheduled for Jan 17 and then of course my FIRST ET 3 days later (if collection isn't cancelled).

Except for feeling very unfit (too much rum and lounging around), I feel great. I think we are the only people in Seattle who are tan. 8) Of course it won't last long.

Looking forward to some more good news on this thread.

Here is the last list that was posted. It is very old. What do you all think about updating it? (Please tell me if I'm the only one who likes it and we'll stop using it - no biggee).

CarolineP - baby due Nov 28
