I'm new to this site but thank heavens I found it. I recently found out that I would need IVF after op to remove ovarian endometriosis found my tubes just keep expanding (kind of the opposite to being blocked, but just as effective). Am 39 in Jan and so have to go for private treatment (never been preg before), and live on an island off the west coast of Scotland. Glasgow is my nearest centre, but with ferry journey it's quite a hike. Thinking about going down to London for treatment with the specialist that operated and will probably stay in hotel. I dont know how practical this all will be, but I am concerned about starting over and finding a new fertility specialist. Any advice would really help - I don't know what to do for the best.

Just joined the site today. It's really important that you find a clinic you have faith in. Have you checked the HFEA website to look at the stats for women of your age group with different clinics? Good luck with it anyway. I'm 43 so you're a youngie to me!

Hi and welcome to the site.
I am sorry I haven't got an answer to your question. We were referred to a local clinic by my GP. But if you post on the general forum there are lots of very wise women who I'm sure will be able to help.
You also may like to get hold of a copy of a book called Fertility and Conception by Zita West. The book is really easy to read and outlines the procedures and experiences of IVF. It's really worth reading (and no I am not on commission!)
Good luck with your tmt
