AM I A FAILURE?

Post by Kara29 »

I went to the doc today and saw HIM! Correction I have one egg in each ovary and they are not maturing. I am sad. All of this suffering (I get severe bladder urgency and frequency that no med on the face of this planet helps the painb) and nothing…………..they upped me from 50-75IU’s on wed. He is keeping me at 75IU’s for the weekend and says he wants to go slow with me for some reason. . He says I should have more eggs by now but it could be why I have not gotten pregnant yet and it could be b/c they started me out at only 5O and next time they will start me out at 100. NEXT CYCLE IN A MONTH!!!! NEXT TIME???????? OMG! I don’t know if I can go though this again! I need a miracle for sure. I am sad that I only have one egg to each side that are tiny and not growing. I pray that they grow over the weekend. By the way we are doing IUI with these injections because we can not afford IVF.

Does anyone know if my eggs could grow over the weekend? Does anyone know if a miracle could happen and I could get any more eggs?

Those are my questions.

I feel like a failure!!

Hi Kara

I did IVF/ICSI, so my drugs were different. However, I didnt respond at first on the dose of stimming drugs they gave me. They had to more than double my dose of Gonal F (From 150 to 375) to get any response and even then I was slow to get going! (But the last few days made a big difference, I ended up with 12 eggs). They started off low with me because I was borderline for pcos. We are all different and some of us need more adjustment of our drugs/dosages to get it right. Please dont think of yourself as a failure! You arent! I seemed to have a setback at every stage of my treatment and look at me now! It might be worth posting this on the IUI thread on the general forum, the girls there will be a lot more knowledgeable on IUI drugs/dosages etc.
Good luck!
Take care

Kara, please don't despair. Try posting on general forum for more advice about this. There are threads 'No follies from stimming' and 'Poor responders' or the 'IUI girls'
Like Kim said it can take a while to get the meds right. Maybe your dr is being careful as he doesn't want you to overstimulate...I really don't know.
I had no follies at all when I stimmed and am now going for a short protocol in Jan.

Hang in there, you are not a failure we all respond differently to these drugs and it can just take a little time to get it right.

Take care and good luck
