HELP - TLC NEEDED

Post by boxer »

Hi All
I have just joined the site and in need of talking to people that understand infertlity and the feelings after a failed ivf.
I am 32. My husband is 34. We have been trying to conceive for 3 1/2 yrs. My husband was diagnosed as azoospermic (no sperm) in December 03. We were absolutely devastated as both really wanted a family. After the initial shock, we went to see a fertility clinic and had our first iui in March last yr with donor sperm. Ngative. 2 following attempts in June and Sept 04 were negative. We were then told we must have ivf. Just had our 3rd failed attempt at ivf- negative result on Boxing day. We are both devastated and just feel there is no hope left. No one understands. My friend who was going through the same as me is pregnant so I cant talk to her.
We are both wondering if someone is telling us to give it up. We both feel as if all the fight is gone from us.
Does anyone have any simial stories to share ?

So sorry to hear about all of the negative's. I some what know what you are going through. Our doctor suggested we go right to IVF, so I have not done any IUI's yet. I did my first IVF in Nov-Dec 2004 and had ET on Chrismas Eve 2004, it was positive and we were so happy, but sadly I had my son at 22 weeks gestation, on May 15, 200,5 he was 1 lb 3 oz and lived for an hour. He wasn't due untill Sept 12th, on my husbands 30th birthday. It was devisating. We thought it would be best to try our next IVF in a few months, so we did. Our second try at IVF was Oct-Nov 2005, and sadly to say, it was negative, we were so shock and upset. Our next try at it will be in Feb-March 2006. This is the last time that my husbands Insursance will cover it, so we are hoping for the best. I also have a friend who had 2 IVF both postive and miss carried later on. Now she is pregnant on her own and soon to deliver. So I want to tell you to have hope, I know it is hard to hear, but I'm sure it will happen when it happens. Good Luck, I will keep you in my thoughts !!

Hi Boxer and welcome to the site. Sorry to see your news.
A lot of ladies here have been through similar experiences. Only you can decide when and if to try again. If you do decide to go ahead you will find loads of support and advice here. The ladies are fantastic :D
Good luck
