I'm worrying as usual as they told me at my checkup that my amniotic fluid levels are pretty low so i need to go in for IV fluids daily to see if it goes up.

Had a wonderful holiday and hope you all had the same. I am now off work and enjoying getting some rest and things done around the house. I also get some time to spend with our animals, Jasmine (cat) and Inky (bunny). As I watched Jasmine get under a blanket to sleep today, it made me think if how secure the baby must feel tucked away in our bellies.

Hope all is well with everyone and looking forward to the New Year babies! I cannot believe how fast time has gone. . .

Hi everyone

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and didnt over eat TOO much!!
Hope you are all doing ok in these last weeks of pregnancy. Its now getting increasingly difficult to sleep properly and then I spend the rest of the day tired! My BP is still on the high side, so been monitored regularly.
I am taking it easier now (No choice really, I can only do so much!) so hoping it will be ok. My bump can be really active sometimes and certainly likes kicking my ribs! Its really weird sometimes to watch my whole bump suddenly lurch to one side. Fascinating though! I am a little concerned that my baby is lying with her back to my back, which can mean the birth is more painful. Ive read that babies like to face their placenta in the womb and because mine is anterior I think this is the case. The midwife has also thought that on previous visits, but today thought maybe she had turned slightly, so heres hoping!

Minnow - Looks like me or you are next to give birth! (Havent heard from Katylark since May/June, so dont know if she will update us). I bet you are before me though! Cant wait to hear your news! Hope all is going smoothly with the house etc.

Little P - Hope you had a wonderful time at Harrods Xmas eve and didnt spend TOO much!!

Sher - Glad to hear you had a wonderful holiday and are now enjoying resting and spending time with your pets. My 3 cats are all cuddled up on the sofa at the moment-too cold and snowy to go out!

Smita - Hope having the daily IV fluids isnt getting you down too much. Hope those levels are now coming back to normal and your worry is eased. Only a matter of weeks now until your little one is here, so the end is in sight! When do you see DH again?

Hope everyone else is keeping ok and not finding the final weeks too difficult. Cant believe our babies are nearly here!

Take care everyone
Love Kim

Hi Ladies!

Just wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year and to say that I cannot wait to hear about all the new babies due in the New Year! As a few of you are nearing the end and feeling frustrated or tired - keep the faith! It's just preparing you for when the baby is born. Our 3 week old baby Meagan is truly a blessing but a challenge as well as she is having some very fussy times. This was my first week home by myself with her and I must say I'm looking forward to having DH home with me for the holiday weekend. I have always worked and being a stay at home mom will be a big change for me. But this is one change I welcome very much. Meagan and I are getting to know eachother and bonding every day.

Take Care ladies! Have a wonderful and blessed New Year!

Love,
Christine

hi all, wishing you a fantastic new year (as if it wouldnt be with all the excitement we've got coming!).

hope you're ok Smita with the daily IVs. a pain i know but great that you are being checked so regularly.

Kim, we really are on the home straight! i sympathise entirely with what you say about it being hard to sleep and the lurching stomach experience! it is very bizarre watching it take on a life of its own. sounds like you are making the most of these last few weeks and are nearly sorted. well done. isnt it great having all the baby things away and ready to use?

we finally moved in completely on dec 27th and have continued to unpack boxes bit by bit. we only have a few left now and the house is looking great. i feel settled for the first time in ages and like the feel of this new area. as dh isnt working yet we are having lots of opportunity to get things ready together.

had another scare re baby this week. went for my first antenatal check in this area and the midwife picked up a dip in heartbeat to about 70 bpm for between 1-2 mins before the baby picked up again. we were sent straight to the hospital to get it monitored (at least we know where it is now!). there were a couple more dips and the next day we were able to have another full scan and see a consultant to talk things through. apparently everything looks fine. they checked the size of the baby, blood flow through the umbilical cord and had a good look at the heart. they say that dips like these can happen at this stage and it is not anything to worry about too much unless the baby stops moving as much. now i am of course paranoid about how much i can feel at any one time. it feels hugely frightening to be so responsible for ensuring this little thing's safety until it comes out. we were both very relieved to get the reassurance and all i must do now is have a weekly check to monitor the heart rate. i am now frantic to get this baby out so that it can be somewhere i can keep an eye on it properly!!

interestingly, my amniotic fluid is borderline high, unlike Smita, so they are checking my glucose levels as it can indicate diabetes although they expect it to be negative.

sorry to go on about me again. this pregnancy has been far from straightforward and yes i am still throwing up a few times a week!!

hope that things for the rest of you are fine and that you are starting to get really excited about what is to come in a few weeks time! i will keep up to date with you all in between unpacking my final boxes - this must be nesting gone mad!!

Minnow

So sorry you've been going through so much - what a frightening time for you both. I'm so glad that your hospital was able to give you some reassurances and put your mind at ease - the constant monitoring is a good idea as well.

Glad you're safely ensconced in the new home - sounds very exciting :D

I've just had my check-up with my GP - he was really pleased, all measurements, tests, etc were spot on so that was a huge relief. Little One is in a good snuggled position - I just can't believe that I'm now in the final stages - I am truly getting very, very excited!!

Hope you are all ok and looking after yourselves.

Gavin

Sounds like you are busy, busy, busy - joining in the nesting!!

We're having loads of fun getting the final touches done - nearly there, just one or two things to go and then the final ticks are in the boxes and we just wait for our turn.

Feeling absolutely shattered at the moment - been doing loads of washing and sorting out, it seems never-ending, but I have to admit it leaves a wonderful feeling!!

Big hugs to you all.

Hi everyone

Another week has flown by since I last posted! 11 days until my due date now!!! My BP reading has been within the normal range the last couple of readings, which is a relief. I do feel a little more ready and organised, so this could be why.

Cheryl - Welcome to the 3rd trimester! Its an amazing feeling reaching this stage isnt it? Enjoy it!

Minnow - Hope you are ok since your scare with the baby's heartbeat. It is good that you can get the reassurance all is ok. You sound a little more settled now, anyway. Enjoy your last few days unpacking!

Little P - Glad all is ok with your little one. It is reassuring when all the measurements etc are spot on isnt it? Take it easy with the 'nesting'. I know I over did it a bit. It is nice to get things ticked off youe list though isnt it?

Gavin - Hope your baby turns round so Gen can have a natural birth. Enjoy the DIY! My DH is putting the finishing touches to our nursery this weekend. I think hes enjoying doing it!

Christine - Its lovely to hear you are bonding well with Meagan. I cant quite believe that I will be in the same position very soon! Take care of yourselves.

Smita - I read elsewhere that your DH was back for a little while at New Year, so hope thats why you havent been posting and are making up for lost time together. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Take care everyone!

Just popped over to see how y'all were doing and just wanted to let you know that I have been reading a great book that helps you with all of the questions you were asking, Jacky :) It's called Baby Bargains by Denise and Alan Fields. It walks you through every baby product you could imagine and gives parent ratings, tips on what to look for, etc. They have a website, but only a limited amount of info is on there (they want you to buy the book of course), www.babybargains.com

Hope this helps :)
