Calling BFPers-When did you first see the heart beat?

Post by Tarot2006 »

Hi- I am new to the boards...I am newly pregnant (6 1/2 weeks). All 3 beta's were great, but I saw no heartbeat yet at 6 weeks, 0 days which has me worried.

When did you see the fetal heart beat and/or fetal pole for the first time?

Hi Tara

We are also new to the boards - can't give you any help but just to let you know we are in the same position. Had a 6 week scan this morning and saw no heartbeat - so now worried...

Slightly comforting to know someone in the same place but anyone out there been in the same position would be good to hear from you.

Cheers

I was very lucky and was able to see a small flicker at 5.5 weeks. However, I have read many posts from women who didn't see one until a few weeks later. I know it's hard not to worry, but try not to stress yourself out. I am sure everything is fine :)

We saw the heartbeat at the first scan which was at 6 weeks.

Try not to be disheartened - there is certainly no reason to assume something is wrong, it's still very early days and sometimes it is just not possible to clearly see the image.

Big hugs to you both.

We had a scan at 5 and a half weeks at which there was no heartbeat, one definite sac and possibly one other sac, although it looked more like a shadow of the first sac. Two weeks later there were two very clear sacs with two very clear heartbeats so the change in two weeks was amazing. Funnily enough I was showing the scan pictures from the 7 week scan to my two three year olds (those two heartbeats four years on!) today.

All the best.

Thank you all for your replies! It helps to know that others have gone through this and had positive outcomes.

I appreciate your support!

Tara

P.S. Chris, when do you go for another scan?

My clinic will not scan you until you are 7 weeks and 2 days as they say that too many scans show no heartbeat before this, so to get a defineate result only scan at this point
Good luck I hope it all works out OK

I know we're new to site but just thought I'd update.

Unfortunately it's been bad news for us. We have had 2 more scans and there has been no change - so we have been officially classed as failed.

We're back tomorrow for day surgery and then back to square 1 I guess.

It's immensley upsetting and frustrating. We had a very bad weekend but in a way things are better now we have some resolution rather than an awful waiting period.

Think we are going to carry on but obviously very early days.

Tara - hope your news is better.

All the best

So sorry to hear that Chris - sometimes things just don't seem fair. I really hope you feel a little brighter soon and that things do work out for you,
