HI guys -PG testing Q?

As the gals on the June cycle chat will know am on Day 2 after et. And already getting a bit twitchy!! Am new to this have have a Q which is almost certainly stupid but here goes..... I had egg collection last Friday (27th) - is that the equivalent to the day you ovulate in a normal cycle?? If so should I expect to get my af 14 days after ie the 11th July. The clinic have said that I can come in for a blood test on the 11th, but couldnt I do one of those pee sticks 3 days before my AF is due , ie on the 8th July ?? But have i got that wrong, maybe I'm mixed up, perhaps the et day (29th) is like the ovulation day? Basically dont know what day my af would come after ec/et. Of course it'll be screwed up because of drugs etc , but that aside, when SHOULD af come if its behaving itself!?? Confused!! Cheers all - hope this makes SOME sense! Cazx

hi caz, I was told not to test before 14 days after et, I wouldnt do a pee stick test before the 10th. Im not sure about what day youre classed as ovulating, its all very confusing! but dont test early as it will show as -tive and youll get all stressed out! are you working at the mo , or are you taking time off? hope your embies are making themselves comfy! kathryn x

Hi Caz, Forget about when you would normally ovulate in your cycle and trying to tie the dates in - the IVF cycle is artificially engineered, so you can't relate it to a normal cycle. You just need to do a hpt on day 14 after et (class day of et as day 1), make sure you're not tempted to test earlier as the hormones in your system can give you a false reading. Best of luck! made a boob in my posting!! i wrote, dont test before the 10th but meant to put 13th!(as in 13th july) as that is 14 days after et. dont know where I got 10th from, but please dont test on the 10th caz!!! looks like youll be testing before the 13th anyway with the hospital! just re read my post and realized it didnt make sense, sorry! kathryn x [Edited by kathryn on 02-Jul-03 15:11]
