When doing Follisitm injections for IUI(on day 8 no where near ready to be inseminated) my eggs are not ready..............are we allowed to have sex before artificial insemination. I am taking 75 IU's for the weekend, so today and tomorrow and then on Monday, I go in for ultrasound and bloodwork, just wondering if we could have intercourse tonight.

I had ICSI so I don't know if it's the same but our clinic actually recommended that we had regular sex up to, and exactly on, 2 days before transfer.
I do know that if you are using your partners sperm it is good to keep it moving so to speak.
My consultant used the analogy that if a small sports and social club only opens once a week, the first couple of pints they pull will be a bit scummy. (Yes - he really did say that!)

For the ivf program, I'm getting used to cutting back on alcohol, caffiene, strenuous exercise and definitely cutting down my bank balance. I attempt to juggle the appointments, procedures, medications and side effects around my work and my social life... but now I hear I have to have regular sex as well? 
DH is going to like this one. 
No - it wasn't explained to us the same way - but i think we were told to have sex about 3 days before i had the egg pick up and he completed his part of the deal. The beer analogy makes sense.
